Heh. I enjoyed your Dad's email. To be honest, some of that goes on in my family. But mainly because they know I'm gullible. *g*

It seems that sarcasm is a genetic trait!

Does anybody else get this kind of advice from close family members on a regular basis

Geez, if my father was the type to watch (non-historical) movies, that sounds so much like something he would say, not only in the content but the style. Not sure if that's comforting or not...!

No, I'm not counting down either. Nope.

I know mine is a weird family. I just hope we're no weirder than any other family, or else I'm in a lot of trouble. :)

I just watched two episodes of Farscape and now I know who the people in your icon are.

Hee! You'll even recognize the scene it's from very shortly.

Just remember, it doesn't really kick in until episode 16. And I'd love to see your reactions.

Heeeeee! That email from your dad is hysterical. I particularly like the "one person's psychotic inhumanity to another" bit. I can certainly see where you get your snarky sense of humor. :) Good luck with the roommate search.

EEEEEEEE 29 days! Still way too long. Just finished checking out the S2 promo pics... have you seen them?

I definitely get my sense of humor from my dad. My mom is weird too, but in different ways.

Just finished checking out the S2 promo pics... have you seen them?

No--where are they? Are they spoilery?

You've probably seen them by now, but just in case you haven't, they were linked on galacticanews today. Along with a really hilarious send-up of them courtesy of meyerlemon, which is so funny that I forgive the merciless mocking of Lee therein.

The photos aren't spoilery, just (IMO) vaguely embarrassing; it did occur to me, though, that there's a fairly conspicuous absence in terms of the characters who are represented. I hope it's not significant in any way.

I have seen them by now, and--dude. And as for the absence, I'm sure that person can look silly smolder at the camera as well as the rest of them, but I suspect he gets sidelined because he's not a "main" character. At least I hope.

Anyway, they all need to stop trying to look sexy this minute because it's not working! And given the sexy quotient in the cast, that's scary. In particular, Grace Park needs to cease and desist trying to look tough and kick ass ASAP for the sake of everybody involved.

"Since you are looking for a roommate, I think this might be a good time for you to review that excellent movie "Single White Female". In addition to having a valuable moral for a person in your situation, it is a thoughtful and entertaining and sometimes educational account of one person's psychotic inhumanity to another, a theme that certainly has its socially redeeming aspects."

*falls over giggling*

Okay, no, my parents don't usually give pop culture references in their advice but now i really wish they did. Because i adored this entire email!

When I was in high school, we used to have deadpan intellectual discussions at the dinner table about the statue of Elvis on Mars, or the weight of the soul, or whatever else he'd read on the cover of a tabloid while getting his daily soda at the convenience store at work. He likes to keep up. :)
