In case you haven't seen it before, there are some excellent reasons to be suspicious of the new "academic" fanfic survey that's going around, starting with the fact that it doesn't meet any of the ethical or methodological standards I'm familiar with for social research and ending with the fact that it's designed to support a book called Rule 34: ( Read more... )

Which it might! It's been a little damp down here this week. On the plus side, the temperature should be in the low eighties during the day, which seems a little more comfortable than what it was the last few years.

asta77, who actually does crazy things like check weather forecasts rather than blithely assuming that it just doesn't rain between May and October, warned me about the weather, and I have packed an umbrella, so I'm all prepared and stuff.

Yay! Standing in lines with friends! It brings us closer together, it does.
