A belated happy birthday to voleuse and thomasina75I survived the parental visit--a little more touchy, a little less patient than I wanted to be, spending more time talking myself down than I would have liked, but it was more or less a good visit (though mostly Internetless, since the wireless adapter in my laptop is on the blink and I could not handle surfing the ( Read more... )

I just started watching the second ep the other night -- had to turn it off halfway through, dammit -- but I'm SO relieved to hear that the voice over goes away!

I was totally thinking of you when I saw the first episode without a voiceover, which I believe (but am not certain) is episode 4. Even better, they rotate between characters before they go away.

I hope you get a chance to watch more, because I'd really like to hear your take on certain aspects of it, if I can be mysterious for the moment. :)

Last thing I saw was the crazy old white dude shooting himself. *That* raised some questions, I tell you what.

I want to watch more! I was going to last night, in fact, but then I remembered that I still have the last season of Six Feet Under to finish. (:

Did I blank out on the part at the end of last season where they were evacuated to a nice new planet with a stargate before Atlantis came under attack?

Well, yeah -- except it were the Ancients, back in The Return, that evacuated the Athosians to a nice new planet with a stargate. My guess is they never went back.

Also, I'm having a hard time connecting to the remaining [even Sam, who's my favorite character in the world] characters on SGA, and part of it is that I *know* they won't face the consequences of what happened to Elizabeth.

Aha. I had totally forgotten about that, and am relieved that they didn't just get dropped.

They all just seem so stuck in place; they never learn, they never grow. I'm pretty much dreading seeing Sam in that environment, and that might be what makes me stop watching.

I have obtained (or will be shortly) Charlie Jade and I can't wait to watch!

I sort of half watch BW, and mostly because, yeah, Sarah Corvus is the most fun. Later last night I got an email from NBC to answer a questionnaire about my viewing habits last night (I get these periodically), so I answered all sorts of questions about BW--which characters I liked, who was most interesting, etc. :D

Excellent! It's definitely an unusual viewing experience, in a lot of different ways.

Why do I suspect they're getting a lot of feedback like that?

Hey! brynnmck led me here, because I'm part of the circle of Seattle fans who got into Charlie Jade. (feochadn found it, and she and gwyn_r vidded it for Vividcon, and we're all friends.)

Your comments, especially about 01, are really interesting. I'd love to discuss meta with you, and I'm sure gwyn_r would as well. Do you have any other posts about CJ?

Oops, sorry...gwyn_r found the series though another fan, and told feochadn about it. They're a hive mind, so it's practically the same thing. ;)

Hi!

I haven't done any other posts yet, but I plan to. I'm really excited to meet someone else who's seen the show! I just finished the series this weekend, and am still in the "Whoa!" phase, and I have an out-of-town guest coming this weekend, so I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to pull something together. But I would love to talk more about it. I had guessed one particular meaning of 01's name that the show itself confirmed, so I was pretty pleased about that.
