Oh. Oh. This was a wonderfully unexpected ending. The open-endedness of the end works well; I admit I was expecting something that tied up more neatly, but as Jessica pointed out in the narrative, that really isn't life. Jessica and Tiffany's drifting apart was heartbreaking to read, especially after knowing how they grew closer over the summer and the easy friendship they had, but was definitely understandable. I love that Tiffany - despite how she may have wanted to be with Jessica (and even that, through Jessica's eyes, wasn't obvious if I'm remembering things correctly) - "did the right thing" and backed off completely

Thank you for stopping to comment! It really means a lot to me that the story resonated with a reader, and that the characters and their struggles were believable. My patient and talented betas deserve all the credit

I'm impressed that you managed to stick to the ending you had written a long time ago. Most times, I think the end would've been heavily edited (or scrapped altogether) due to the changes that occurred while writing the rest of the fic. Characters never behave!
Despite your "struggle" from the beginning to the end, the transition from the start to the finish line was smooth, and like I said, this was amazing and well-written and I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH.
This ending image was the reason I wrote it, so..! I committed myself to it with the teaser at the beginning of the story :( Ah, rookie mistakes...
Eeeee. Thank you, you're very kind and I'm so glad someone loves it! Every Right Turn, Every Left Turn was so much easier to write, like a first-born that just does everything right, but this fic is my problematic yet beloved second child ;A
Wow. In a blink of an eye its been several years. When I first read this and fell in love with the storyline, I was a freshman in university and now I've already graduated into the deep, dark corporate world. But it was worth the wait. I would have hoped for an ending where they end up together but I guess that is unrealistic. Tiffany's willingness to extend the coffee meeting to dinnertime speaks volumes and that is enough to bring a well-measured warmth in my humble reader's heart. Thank you dear writer for this lovely multi-shot. I would love for you to continue writing more and I look forward to your future works, if any! It takes great skill to weave such genuine and relatable emotions into your story. Kudos to you on that!
I'm glad you enjoyed the story, and that I managed to make at least a few readers feel that a neat happy-ever-after ending was unrealistic :D My betas are really responsible for how well this story turned out, and as for future stories....We'll see. ^^;
Thank you for stopping to leave a comment, and once again, I'm glad you enjoyed this story ^^
(Stay strong in the deep, dark corporate world! Writing is a great escape. ^^)

I THOUGHT THE IDEA WAS THAT IF I FINISHED THE STORY, IT WOULD NEVER BE HELD OVER MY HEAD AGAIN?!
THERE WAS NO MEMO ON IT BECOMING A RUNNING JOKE.
Thank you for ploughing through the 1001 versions.
