I Hate This Town

I hate this town...this whole county. It sucks. There's fucking nothing to do around here. I'm going out of my mind being completely bored. Few of my friends ever have time to hang out, those that do seem to never have the same days off as me (I hate my fucking schedule). I don't want to play any more D&D either. I've grown completely tired ( Read more... )

xmas, emo, boring, work

So get a new job already.
The place I work at is hiring for Garage attendants and they start at $12.
I'm guessing that's a few bucks more than Darden pays.
Also if that really happened to your friend Mike, get the entire story and eloquently send it to the Kitsap Sun, A) They have absolutely nothing to write about worthwhile, ever.
B) Maybe a layer may be able to help your friend after reading about it.
C) The Kitsap police need all the bad rep they can get.

I would get a new job, but there are things about my job that I really like. Like the managers are all pretty cool...except the one that recently became my boss. :/ Also, I don't know how the $10.25/hour plus full medical/dental coverage compares to $12/hour and whatever benefits that job has. Also, I'd have to somehow relocate to Seattle, which is easier said than done ( ... )

That was both a fine rant...and a lot of self pity ( ... )

You know...I forget some times how blunt I come across. And that advice isn't always what's necessary. Linear thinker and all that ( ... )

The thing is, I love my job except for the pay, and the lack of weekends off. I have way too much fun there just working sometimes. I don't even know why I mentioned college, because I decided against that. I realised it would just be a waste of time and money considering what I want to do.

I don't think I'll ever not be able to pay rent, it's just I'll never have enough for deposit on a new place since I never have more than $50 left over after paying rent and bills every month. If you want to take a look at my car to see if there's any way to keep the oil from pouring onto the manifold, I don't know when a good time will be. I'm pretty much only available Monday and Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Pool and bowling are fun, and Mark was doing that regularly for a while with his coworkers, but I think that fell apart. Also, I think they closed down the only pool hall I know of around here. I go on walks all the time, but it's always alone. Didn't know that D&D completely stopped. Must have missed that

I sure hope you don't think my family is paying my way through school. I've been paying for myself, having to rely on student loans, and doing what I can to make a dollar stretch. I've actually been dealing with a bit of stress over it since I too have been living paycheck to paycheck, and I'm not earning enough money to even pay for my tuition this winter ( ... )

Like I said before, I've decided against school for a big list of reasons. Now is not the right time.

I never said I was disappointed that I wasn't getting any gifts. I'm mostly sad for my mom and sister who are basically alone except for each other, and they've got nothing to spend on each other. I'll see if I can scrape up a little something for each of them if they tell me what they want. I'll even put it on my credit card if I have to. I also feel sad for my friends because I can't afford to give anyone else anything.

I never said go back to school. You said you hate where you live, so why not just move if that's the problem? If you need inspiration for doing so, just read the accounts of countless numbers of people who left all they knew with only a few dollars in their pocket. (I know of at least one living person who left his country in the 60s with only $19 in his pocket. He inspired me greatly.)

Those cookies you made the one year were awesome, as was the fudge you made when I was home this past summer. Christmas is always a special time at my home because my mom makes things (like fudge) that we never make at any other time of the year. I would think that even a humble tin of fudge and perhaps some baked goodies would at least be something, and you'd not even have to break the bank to do so. I did that one year for quite a few of my long-distance friends, and it was a big hit.

If worst comes to worse...you can always fall back on child hood gifts.
I.E. write a poem, make a christmas card out of crayons and construction paper, bake them some goodies...

You may be surprised how much people love that. Especially food...
