Day 52: Intercom, Morning

Sep 27, 2010 02:08

It seemed that the staff at Landel's Institute were in the business of breaking promises, as the voice that came on was not Martin Landel's, but Lydia's. It sounded like she had made sure to get her coughing out of the way this time around, though, as her stern tone was clear as she gave the bland announcement.

"Breakfast has now ended. In this next shift, the majority of you will be taken into the library, though a select few will be led to therapy sessions with one of the six doctors that we have on staff today. Your doctors will not harm you, so please do not resist going to see them. They are only trying to help."

Clearly, there had been problems with getting people to go to their therapy appointments in the past.

"It should also be noted that, as requested, some additional science fiction novels have been added to the library's collection. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain any non-fiction texts. Nonetheless, please relax and enjoy your reading."

And with that, the intercoms cut off and the nurses started to interrupt breakfast conversations to lead patients out of the cafeteria.
