Once the cost was clear, he stepped quietly into the hallway, prioritizing in the most rational way as possible. He didn't have a weapon to protect himself with, nor

Though she had stopped herself from running, Natalia was now compelled to slow, to pull free her flashlight and flick it on. She had not looked at each branching hallway the night before, to know which held which rooms, only ascertained where M60 fell. She noted the numbers of the closest doors, 80, 70, 60, 50. The last hall, so surely, the numbers moved down from fifty. She turned at that hall, renewing the rapidity of her prior pace, swinging the light from door to door.

It was so funny to see people walking the halls in the middle of the night, like everyone had decided to get a glass of water all at once. Carter managed to hold his head high rather than slouching and sneaking the way he'd done at Stalag 13. There was nothing to be afraid of here, no barking guards or men with guns. Maybe a monster or two but you could always handle monsters. It was people that you really needed to be scared of.

The occupants grew to a few in number, but Tear did not find it enough to slow her pace or lessen her wary stance. She did, however, take pause in the similarity of the layout of this hallway to the one she had exited moments prior. It made sense to keep the living quarters uniform; this setting, unfortunately, had an uncanny way of making such a simple setup appear unsettling.
The thought lasted in mere seconds, and the Melodist continued to the end of the hall.

Okita paused in the hallway and looked out into the darkness toward the corridor that contained Homura's room. His old room. It would make sense to go there first and pick up what he could from the man's remaining belongings. It was the closest to his quarters and it made perfect strategic sense. He could go there, grab whatever was in that room, drop it off at his place and go off to see where Nataku's room was to pick up whatever was left there, too.
It made perfect sense.
He turned and put his back to the gaping emptiness he felt, walking the opposite direction.

The pair made it down the hall and into the connecting one in no time at all. Guy couldn't even count how many times he and Claude had walked these halls together, though he probably could get an exact number if he thought back on it. He just didn't have the time or energy for it at the moment, but maybe they could find the chance to reminisce at some other point.
No, right now what he needed to do was run his plan by Claude. "It's going to be a lot faster if we just head up and cut through the field," he remarked as he glanced over at the other blond. "Do you mind if we do it that way?" He didn't think Claude would protest, but it was better to check it over first.

When Guy suggested they take a short-cut, Claude glanced over at him, vaguely surprised, but not against it, either. As far as he knew, it wasn't uncommon for brainwashed patients to wander around that way. On the other hand, it would make their trip a lot shorter, so he couldn't exactly say no, either.
"No, I don't mind," he replied as they made it to the door that led into the next hallway. "Good idea."
