Night 51: M-B Block Hallway

Aug 28, 2010 16:11

[From here.]Locke made a point to be as careful and quiet as possible, looking past the hallway to make sure no one else was trailing him. Well, anyone with hostile intent, anyway. Once the cost was clear, he stepped quietly into the hallway, prioritizing in the most rational way as possible. He didn't have a weapon to protect himself with, nor ( Read more... )

As Harvey continued down the hall toward the door that would take him out of the block, he found himself gripping the radio in his coat pocket. He hadn't bothered with it the night before and had probably missed out on something important as a result. Honestly, he didn't know how much of the whole radio plot was just a hoax to spice up their nights (as if they needed any more spice in them), but he had to admit that he was curious now.

He'd once told Lana that there was no point in taking the radio along, and now he was eating his words. Or, well, he would be if the radio persona actually did broadcast tonight and said something useful. Until that happened he could remain a skeptic, but he wasn't sure how long that would last for.

Harvey had to admit that he was curious to hear what Jones thought of all the radio nonsense. It might be something to discuss as they headed for wherever they ended up going. Still, first he had to get to him, and so Harvey moved through the door at the end of the hall without pausing.

She'd finally reached the block hallway. There was no sign of Takashi out here to greet her this time, so she assumed that he would be waiting at Honey's room. Curse her lateness. She would have to apologize to everyone for keeping them waiting.

The place didn't exactly seem to be bustling just yet, and that helped Matt's mood. As soon as he was in the next hallway, he lit his smoke, stopping and taking a deep drag of the acrid smoke. The nicotine immediately started flooding his system, and he felt better after barely another moment. Taking a deep breath of regular air, Matt continued on his way, holding the cigarette between his lips as he pulled the coat closer around himself.

Oh wow, he'd... completely forgotten how it's pretty much pitch black in here at night. He ended up getting caught off guard by it all over again. The people in charge of this place were such cowards, doing stuff like this. Not like he couldn't figure that much out from everything else...

His "roommate" hadn't really seemed like the type who fought very much. The guy was definitely better off laying low until they could get a path cleared out of here. Since he'd gone and told the guy about the monsters and stuff that wandered around this place, Snow figured his roommate had figured that much out on his own. And if not, this darkness was probably gonna be enough to make him think twice about running around. So there was no point worrying about his "roommate."

Nope. All he had to focus on was moving along and finding his way to the other guys. Snow followed along the hallway, using his hand on the wall as a guide, until he found the door he'd found last night.

The hall had only one patient in it other than the three of them, but Zack didn't let that deter him. If anything, having people going into that Sun Room ahead of them might be in their best interest. Either way, he wasn't too worried. They had gotten all the way down to the basement once, so they could do it again.

As he walked along, he glanced back at the two, taking in matching gloomy expressions. Sheesh. Maybe they had both made this trip too many times already. It was a good thing he was around to liven things up! "So, how have you guys been doing since we tried this last? I know I already talked to you a bit about it, Aidou, but..."

He really didn't know Sasuke as well, beyond him being blind and a bit of a downer, so why not learn more now?

The noble had to sigh to himself. He also wished there’d been more of an opportunity to speak to Sasuke, at least where the more sensitive topics were concerned. Now that the basement objective was in progress, the other stuff would have to wait. Had their positions been reversed, Aidou might not have been pleased to have his business with an Institute doctor voiced in front of Zack ( ... )

A standard enough question here, and one that Sasuke was beginning to hate. The nights flew past so quickly here, and when they didn't they dragged with abruptness into one thing or another that interrupted even the simplest goals, until the only answer he could give was a terse: "There have been complications."

Aidou's comment was a relief of a distraction; Sasuke had noticed the strange increase in unusual events as well. From what he could remember, they had gone weeks without such disturbances before, but it had been close to nightly and daily of late. And as for actually meeting the voice on the radio -- that was unusual, but it had happened before.

He opened the door to the next hall before responding, moving with familiarity in the halls that had taught him how to navigate blindness.

[[sorry for taking so long to move them here!! T_T]]
