here and waiting for the opposite one.~]The hall was as empty as she had seen it. Silence glistened as severe as any palpable source. Voices echoed in the distance, but here there was nothing. No one. No sounds, but the dull creaks of a settling building and shifting ghosts. Last night gave rise to a new awareness. She did not take the

Nope. None of the chicks here were noobs and the non-noob ones all looked like they would slap him if he tried to show off his manliness to them. Well, except the little blue-haired one, but he was so not going to look like a pedophile by going up to her and asking if she needed someone big and strong to protect her. Besides, kids these days... she'd probably just punch him in the goodies and stick her tongue out at him. So not cool.
What he did see was what he thought was a hot chick, looking all nooby, heading into the waiting room. Actually, that alone was enough of a tip-off since there was nothing useful in those rooms. Not unless someone needed emergency toilet paper or something.
And away he went, following the Be Manly for Me beacon.

As usual, the main hallway was slightly more crowded, but judging from the number of patients present, the night was still young. To the stairwell, then.

Even more humans were out, some of them even male this time. Amaterasu nodded in acknowledgement as she passed them by, still keeping her pace as steady as ever. She was late, so late! Hopefully nobody would be waiting on her . . . .

As expected, the main hallway was much more crowded than the areas he had just passed. Surely, there'd be some poor fool to travel with tonight; idiots were much more preferred than traveling through these dangerous halls on his own. Even if he had no particular idea where to be headed, but for now the feline was content with 'anything remotely useful and distracting'. That wasn't even such a high standard, if he dared say so himself.
Eventually, he found a familiar face leaning against the wall - the Scarecrow, was it not? That worked just as well; it would save him spending time on an introduction round at least. Approaching the patient in question while taking care not to give the poor man a heart attack, he said:
"So we meet again. I don't suppose you're waiting for someone?"
Reply
"I was just waiting for a familiar face, preferably with a light." He gave his own flashlight a shake, demonstrating its reluctance to work. "I was hoping to go fetch something from one of the doctor's offices, but there's not much point in goin' if I can't see my hand in front of my face."
That gave him an idea. "You wouldn't happen to be meeting anyone tonight, would ya?"
Reply
"I actually do not have any plans to meet anyone whatsoever, so I suppose I could accompany you to these doctor offices." And he happened to carry a light, even if Scar did not had any immediate need for it. Well, well, wasn't the Scarecrow being lucky tonight?

The main hallway was beginning to fill and, as Tifa stalked along through the crowd, she hoped she'd be able to find Logan. Zack, that'd be easy, his eyes practically glowed in the dark. Logan was......... short. Really, really short. To the point that everyone else dwarfed him. Sooo, yeah, maybe they would just migrate to her instead.

Logan stepped into the hall with Kurt behind him and swept his flashlight up and down the corridor, thankfully unaware of Tifa's completely uncharitable assessment of his height.
If intercom guy was right, they'd have to get upstairs pretty quick, and he wasn't even sure what they were looking for - "Come on," he said to Kurt, dropping his flashlight beam a little so it wouldn't blind Tifa. "Hey you with the nose," he called, then held out the pry bar when she was close enough to take it. "Sorry 'bout the wait; I had to pick somebody up." No point in introducing them, he figured; especially since they were running out of time.

The brunette took the pry bar gladly with a thanks. "No problem..." What else could she say? She just hoped Zack hadn't left before she could get to him. Tifa was going to feel so embarrassed if his first impression of her ability was being late and possibly unreliable. And as caddy as it was to ignore Logan's friend, she did not have the time to exchange niceties. "Thanks again. See you both..." With that, she started to turn and begin her search for the blue-eyed SOLDIER.

--so there. "Wait - Tifa! Hang on." He grabbed her shoulder, found the hand that had the pry bar, turned it palm-up. "Here." He pressed the ring into her palm, just hard enough so she could tell what it was. "I checked, and you were right." Backing away, he pointed at her in the dark with his now-empty hand: "That's mine too, so don't lose it. And I wanna know when that cider's done."
