here and waiting for the opposite one.~]The hall was as empty as she had seen it. Silence glistened as severe as any palpable source. Voices echoed in the distance, but here there was nothing. No one. No sounds, but the dull creaks of a settling building and shifting ghosts. Last night gave rise to a new awareness. She did not take the

No Howl. Abe waited impatiently in the hallway, baseball bat dangling from his hand and his whole body trying to wiggle at once. If he waited here all night for Howl there would be nobody to come for L. Abe gave Howl ten minutes (he knew how these procedures worked, the scientists would require prep time and sterilization and why did he know these things why was it not possible to bore things out of his own head) and after that he'd set out on his own.

This was the usual hallway for meeting people. The real question was whether that was Heat wanted to do or not. The demon didn't believe he'd have any trouble hunting on his own, but sometimes interesting things happened when he grabbed someone else along the way. The Saucekay kid came to mind.
It was only his keener than usual sense of smell that kept him from running straight into someone in nearly the same manner as the teen he'd just been thinking of had run into him. Yeah, he definitely needed to invest in a new flashlight.
"Watch it," he grumbled, although the man had been there first.

Abe stepped backwards against the wall, still glowering at the newcomer. There. On your way.

"What're you doing, anyway?" the demon asked, looking around and seeing no one else near or heading toward the man. He was probably waiting on someone, since he sure as hell wasn't waiting to be bumped into. (Unless he was waiting to be bumped into by someone with actual manners.) "I mean, besides standing here and being a roadblock."

The main hallway was still fairly empty when Edgar reached it, people taking their time leave the relative safety of their rooms for the darkened hallways. And who could blame them? Between the experimental torture and the roaming monsters, there was little reason for those who couldn't defend themselves to chance the institute at night.
As for the curious, the adventurous, the determined, and the downright reckless... well, they would show themselves in due time. Edgar moved quickly, hoping the fewer patients out and about meant the monsters hadn't a chance to settle into the halls, either.

As soon as she pointed her flashlight in the direction of the stairs, she noticed him. While she normally would have found something a little funny about him carrying around a pillowcase -- probably the syringes and whatever else he needed -- like he was Santa Claus or something, she was instead too pleased to see him to pay much mind to it.
She ran up immediately, a little bit of an excitable skip in her step. Helping people did that. As much as she probably should have been grim and gloomy that people were in trouble to begin with, and as much as a part of her mind acknowledged that, she couldn't shake the pride in being useful for once. Noah would be throwing a fit if he were here, but Peter was letting her participate ( ... )

There were not as many as before, but enough, as it were, meeting others and on their way to prove Minato correct. Actions and stride spoke of things all too normal for the ones here. The fact of being released to do as they would for the night was indeed something habitual. He frowned to himself, eyes glancing over the others present. None were known.
Which only furthered his resolve. The sun room was center, and the other rooms ringing it. So to go out, he would have to go further from the center. Gaara's eyes slid to the side, eying a small door before moving to it.

The main hallway. Rika breathed a quiet sigh of relief when she made it out this far unscathed. She wasn't usually so nervous, but she supposed that was due to the incident that afternoon. She worried about both Nigredo and Albedo then, but she couldn't step in. Maybe after some time had passed, but not then.
No, now was about finding some kind of answer. She just needed some company.
