It was a start, for better or worse. It was an attempt to do better, even if she was doubtful of success. Well. With that one, she'd just have to stick close, is all! The last thing Nigredo needed was to be left alone

There was little she had learned within the day; less that she could use. The one called Riku had given her some information on the experiments--the one on the board had offered her assistance with identifying where Ayanami's wound had originated--but still it seemed there was no enough being done. Tonight she would have to make progress, of some sort, or she was not fulfilling any aspect of her purpose. And the other pilots. She had not seen them today. The one called Fifth had responded, but nothing else.
It was not a bland Ayanami that had stepped foot into the showers. Her face was creased in the smallest of thoughtful frowns, discontentment clear from tensed muscles. That she was naked, in a public shower, didn't seem to faze the girl. More to the point were the questions that were growing without answers.
Showers. Much like Rei, Aigis was unaffected by the thought of bathing in front of others. It was the bathing itself that gave her pause.
Her first full day of the institute had held a shower shift, but she hadn't been able to concentrate on the task at the time. Her mind had been completely centered on the absence of her papillion heart, and the strange butterfly-like mark that took its place. But now she was curious to experience the showers. Humans needed to maintain daily hygiene. She was probably now human enough to need it herself.
Her hand covering that little mark at the base of her throat--it was so difficult to just let it be, even if the sensitive personality chip was missing--Aigis walked intently into the steamy shower and chose a free shower head, ignorant of any neighbors she had. She started at the pump of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, trying to decide which to use first.
That someone was nearing to where she had secluded herself was noticed, and Ayanami glanced to the side where Aigis now stood, staring at the soaps provided. Rei slowly reached to the shampoo in front of her, still watching the other girl, and then started lathering her own short hair.
Aigis. She was one who was kind to strangers--though motivation was unknown. An action of need or something else. She was one who declared she was not human. Even though she acted more human than-- Hm. And then she had been upset last night, hadn't she? That itself was a curiosity, and Rei wondered if she would touch on it.
Aigis' hands wavered near the shampoo and conditioner, unsure of which to begin with. She supposed cleaning one's self from the top down would be be the best course of action, so she would take the body wash at the end, but for now, she just wasn't sure.
The person next to her had already began lathering her hair, so Aigis supposed it might be best to ask. "Excuse me, would you mind, oh! Ayanami-san!" Aigis turned fully to her neighbor and bowed, a bit awkwardly at that. She stayed bowed for a moment longer than generally expected, trying to regain her thoughts.
When she finally looked up, her eyes went immediately to the other girl's neck. But she was unsure if she should voice her concern just yet. Instead, she focused on an easier, less sensitive topic, and one more pressing. "Could you tell me which product is best suited for washing one's hair? I'm afraid I'm quite inexperienced in this area of 'living.'"
Rika's day had been largely uneventful - she'd not been feeling so well, a bit of shock from the night prior, and her nurse had let her stay in bed and rest most of the day. She'd even had a light lunch in bed before her nurse urged her up and about, into the shower. She made things quick, the hardest part getting conditioner out of her long, thick hair, and dressed, then was out as quickly as she'd come in.
Had Lelouch truly used a Geass command on those two men that night? If so... Nunnally appreciated that he had been searching for her, but the ends hardly justified the means. It wasn't right to treat people so. For the moment she would reserve judgment; right now she had only a guess made with limited information. She could very well be wrong. In fact, she hoped so.
But what if he had?
Occupied by her thoughts, Nunnally had hardly noticed where she was being led until they arrived. Showers? Again there was the conflict between a chance to be clean and the necessity of doing it so publicly, but fortunately the room was almost empty and none of those present seemed to be paying attention to her. She focused intently on her own task in turn, mildly dismayed at how much trouble her hair was to wash, and left as quickly as possible.
When Kairi woke up in the Arts & Crafts room, she was surprised to see that she had missed lunch. Frowning unhappily, she reluctantly followed her nurse into the showers.
However, the moment she felt the warm water hit her face, the once princess let out a sigh, feeling the warmth soak into all of her aching joints and stuff muscles. Going out every night and barely feeling rested truly was taking a toll on her; not to mention the use of the Darkness, which she was still not actually able to control.
But she didn't want to think about that. She never wanted to lose control again..
Once her shower was done, Kairi dried off quickly. She wanted to go back to the Arts & Crafts room and try to make some more Origami!
Right now, Hokuto didn't want to see ANY part of the Institute; she'd lost friends here before, but Falis...? She was still aching from the loss of Subaru, and now this. It was enough to make her think almost longingly of the one easy way out of here.
After breakfast, she'd retreated to her room to crawl back into bed; she just couldn't face the world right now. Unfortunately for her, faking sick (even if she honestly felt sick right now) didn't always work, and so she was taken to the shower room with everyone else.
Anyone watching her slow movements could see she was depressed, but Hokuto no longer cared. About much of anything.
Sakura raised her arms in a stretch as she was slowly herded to the showers with the other girls. Even though it had only been three days since her last shower, she still couldn't help but feel like it had been ages since her last shower since she tended to shower ever night back at home. Plus, showering offered a nice opportunity to help relieve her tension -- although today, that relaxation would probably prove more detrimental than beneficial

Hokuto hadn't even noticed the girl until she spoke up; turning, she saw someone who had to still be in elementary school. What the HELL is this place doing with preteens?! The question was appreciated, though; it was always good to know there were still people around who cared, even strangers.
Not that she was actually sure how to answer it. "I'm... getting by, I guess," she said quietly, deciding it was better not to elaborate just yet. The girl was being nice, not necessarily asking for her life story.
Well, she didn't get snapped at or ignored so that was a good start. In fact, it felt like the other girl was trying to be nice to her, but it was obvious by her tone that she was still upset. At least it seemed like she was willing to talk though.
"Did something happen?" Sakura asked, looking up at the older girl. She wasn't sure how far it was okay to intrude, but she hoped that at least that much would be okay.
