Day 51: Intercom, Dawn

The blue light of pre-dawn washed over the valley in which the Institute resided, succeeded shortly by the warmer glow of daylight. Okay. This was so, so, so totally not Kay's bedroom.

For one thing, it wasn't anywhere pink enough, and she couldn't hear her gran calling up that breakfast was ready, or hear her Jammin' Ninja alarm clock. So why she was even awake, she didn't know--

Okay, so there was a reason she was awake. There was some guy's voice being all "blah blah blah french toast tasty tasty who is this guy" from above her, and she squinted and blinked at the ceiling, feeling very, very confused. Because dude what the heck.

She sat up, and wow there was like no pink in here. Even her pajamas had turned all grey and so had the walls and the bed and the second bed that was not usually in her bedroom.

Kay squinted, and evaluated the evidence, and tried out that shwing! thing Mr. Edgeworth always did, and came to the conclusion that this was totally not her bedroom ( ... )

But his thoughts were cut off at the sound of a sharp click, the door on the other side opening to reveal a young woman. Austria stilled, but it hadn't taken long for him to stand and angrily address his demands ( ... )

Jack opened his eyes moments before the announcement and stared at the ceiling until it was over. Escape had obviously failed. Miserably. Now he was stuck with people. The door to his room opened and that was finally enough for him to tear his eyes away from the ceiling. A nurse - a different one than he'd had yesterday. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but her falsely sweet voice was informing him she wanted to take him to breakfast, and he figured he might as well let her. It wasn't like he didn't have the time.
