[from

Reminding herself that these were the same halls she had been escorted through during the day had not served to ease the hairs on the neck, nor her quickening heartbeat. An adventure, a quest through haunted rooms to find the one responsible. That she was not,

Utena heard a sharp whoosh followed by a THUNK as she approached the door to the F-A Block hall. She let out a short gasp, quickening her pace. Was there a fight out there? Monsters didn't usually get so close to the patient blocks.
Thankfully, by the time she burst out into the hall, the source of the noise turned out to be someone trying to get a big, bladed weapon down from a wall. There wasn't a threat anywhere nearby, so maybe they had just been practicing, Utena figured. Shining her light over near the person revealed it to be none other than Taura, surprisingly. She gave the older woman a relieved smile at that. All in all, no reason to worry yet. Hopefully things would stay that way for the night.
It looked like the woman had business with someone else in the hall, so Utena didn't stop for chit-chat. With a wave, she jogged on down the hall and out the next door.

But this was pretty annoying, too, having to hold onto two things. Especially without gloves, but she'd gone without them way back when, and even though that defeated the purpose of having gotten gloves eventually, Mele could make do.
But this was still annoying. At least she'd had the foresight to put her hair back up, but that didn't count as foresight if she'd just been putting it back the way it usually was. Shaking her head, Mele moved to the next hall.

Onward to Sakura's room, then. Shikamaru fully expected to find it empty--the girl, like most girls, was too headstrong for her own good.

"So," Evangeline asked as they rounded the corner into the women's rooms block, "Where do these eager young ladies of yours await, hm?"
The thought of that flatly earnest doll waiting in nervous anticipation of Junpei of all people was enough to make her laugh. Empathy for the trials of young adulthood was something she was always going to be short on, having no matter how you looked at it skipped that particular stage of life.

"Got dumped, did you?" Eva responded in English. "Let's go see if we can get into the basement."
The accompanying smirk fell slightly as she belatedly realized he'd spoken in Japanese, when normally she only heard English. What now...?

Okay, whatever dumped was he had no clue but after a few moments, he was able to puzzle out that she wanted to go someplace below. That kinda pointed to the basement. So she did want to do what they did every night and fail miserably. Good thing she didn't say 'take over the world' because then he'd have to snicker.
"O...kay." He gave her an odd look. Why the hell was she talking in English? She could understand and speak Japanese perfectly fine. She must be messing with him.
Junpei was not amused.
