Perhaps it meant no one would snag any smokes away from under his nose this time, but then again, that may have been too optimistic. Eh, but that hardly meant that another person would get away

Almost there. There were patients in the hallway again, and she couldn't help but feel a bit of comfort at the fact that she wasn't alone to wander the hallways anymore. The sound of soft whispers was a calming one, seeing at the silence has been rather unnerving.
But she had to hurry. Bella continued on, her speed hurrying.

It was less crowded here, but not by much. Again, Kirk envisioned monsters crawling through the opaque shadows, attracted by the hushed voices and warm bodies. He paused before the Sun Room and glanced back to make sure Chekov was following safely.

Chekov was indeed following, though intently focused on his map. He looked around at the doors to the Sun Room and made a note before looking back at Captain Kirk and realizing he was being silently asked for confirmation. The ensign smiled encouragingly at the Captain to assure him he was paying attention and following the new route.

Mello planned to detour by his room and pick up the flashlight before heading out. Navigating halls he'd memorized by now was one thing, but the unfamiliar terrain outside would be another. Carrying two weapons had also served him well last time he'd ventured outdoors at night. He was still thoroughly irritated by the computer's lack of cooperation and the attitude Teresa had given him about it, and he stalked along quickly, mostly ignoring the other night-time wanderers.
[for Niikura]

Niikura walked down the hallway, taking his time in observing the people around him and the layout of the hall itself. He'd gone down this hall while leaving the Sun Room only a few hours before, which placed it, according to his mental map, somewhere off to the right of the patients' rooms. Assuming that the patient blocks weren't at the center of the building, did that mean he was near the entrance? This sounded a little too easy.
As he backed up to get a better look at the door to his left, Niikura accidentally stepped into the path of someone behind him and clipped the other man on the shoulder. Flailing, he whipped around, trying to see who was there with his flashlight. There he was - shorter man with, if the light hadn't been playing tricks on him, a pretty large scar down the side of his face. And scars typically meant...well, hopefully this guy wasn't going to give him too much grief for crashing into him.
"Oh man, I'm so sorry about that. I was just tryin' to find the door out, didn't see you..."

He looked the guy over. What was with this place and freakishly tall people? The hair didn't win the kid any points either. "Doors are that way." He jerked a thumb in the direction of the cafeteria.

And was it just him, or had this guy just pointed him in the wrong direction? "And I'm lookin' for the exit, not the Sun Room," he said earnestly. He swished the flashlight's beam back and forth on the correct wall for good measure. "Know it's over here somewhere, so I was backin' up to try to get a wider sweepin' radius with my flashlight."

As expected, this area was also crowded. If he could just get past all of this, then he'd probably be in the clear. If "in the clear" meant alone with a very violent monster, anyway. Peter knew that this wasn't a very good plan, but what else was he supposed to do? The man had chosen to come after him, which must have meant something. Maybe subconsciously, Roland was entrusting Peter with making sure that he didn't hurt too many people.
The only tricky part was keeping himself alive.
With the way Roland was lit up now, Peter doubted anyone would be able to miss him. For that reason, he decided not to waste breath by yelling out warnings, but just focused on running in a straight line. He wasn't entirely sure how he was still standing after the blows that he'd taken, but he'd always been the stubborn type. That, and there was something to be said for adrenaline.
On the other hand, eventually that would run out on him and then he'd be in real trouble. But Peter was working with what he had, and that wasn't much.

So long as he continued to hear that terrible noise, it meant that Roland wasn't too far behind him. Which most people would probably see as a bad thing (and Peter knew it was hardly good), but it did let him know that Roland hadn't been distracted into attacking some other random patient who just happened to be in the way.
Peter's body was definitely worn out after that earlier electrically-charged collision with the wall, but it managed to move him just a little further, into the next part of the hallway.

There were definitely people around. Not lots, but enough that she was starting to think that maybe even fighting her way out of here was too much optimism. Wasn't like she meant to be jaded or a killjoy, but there was something to be said about cynicism-you were often proven right and rarely let down.
Her fingers curled around the flashlight. She would've felt better with a weapon on her. A crossbow would be ideal, but she wouldn't turn down a stake, either. Except those were easy to improvise. You just had to find a chunk of wood or a tree branch somewhere. Shit, even a pencil would do when it came down to it.
She glanced over at Shinji. "You been here awhile?"

"I've only been here a few days. But... there are a lot of people who have been here longer then that."
Like Kaworu, for instance.
