Night 46: M-B Block Hallway

[From here]Oh yes. What a world of difference the right clothing made. Ordinarily, von Karma would have kept his coat buttoned up just to conceal that horrid logo on the hospital-issued shirts. However, the only reason he was even wearing the shabby-looking coat now was strictly for its function of carrying his items. Hopefully, the trip to the ( Read more... )

So far, so good. Not that he'd made it that far, but every step counted. Zack was surprised to find the hallway that fed off of his room was completely empty. The way people had talked, he'd imagined all of the other patients would be wandering around by this point. Maybe some of them just took longer to get ready compared to him.

Or maybe lacing up those boots had taken longer than he realized. It was possible.

After being escorted both to and from his room already, it was simple to locate the door that would take him out of this area even though he was working in the dark. He'd had to explore dim caves and all sorts of other unusual areas in the past, so a dark building wasn't too much trouble in comparison.

He reached the door and slipped out, still keeping on the alert for anything vaguely monster-like that might be hiding in the shadows.

Lockdown pulled Prowl along, guiding the ninjabot's hands this way and that so he could still can the hallway with his flashlight.

Looking at his captive, the bounty hunter growled, "Drag your feet and I'll toss you over my shoulder."

Prowl stayed silent as he followed and....stopped dragging his feet. The depth of his hatred right now couldn't be measured. If they found a monster, it might distract Lockdown long enough for Prowl to take him down.

"Don't feel like talkin', huh? Trust me, this's for yer own good," Prowl might have a lot to say once they reached the Sun Room. If the special counciling patient didn't get to him, then he'd take him out to the rec field.

The hallway was empty, which wasn't all that unusual for this part of the building. Usually people had places to be or other captives to meet, which meant that they normally didn't linger around this place for too long. Since Claude had to escort Guy to Luke's room and meet up with Ashton, he didn't want to waste any time, either. Still, Claude paused long enough to make sure Guy wasn't hanging around. When he didn't see him, he figured it'd probably be best to go ahead and check outside of the block.

Okay... the B Block, home of eighty unwilling patients from rooms 41 to 80. Had she been here before? She couldn't remember. Was this where Haseo's room had been? After a while, all of the 'blocks' looked a little similar. ...No, this wasn't it. This was a different one. Maybe? Aaaah, whatever!

Okay. Seventies were... this aisle? Yeah. Alkaid finally slowed down, adjusted her outfit a little bit to make sure it would give the right impression, then walked proudly down one of the rows of patient rooms. Yeah, hopefully the zombie sexist wouldn't be too uncomfortable with this outfit...

Thankfully this hallway was empty, so Wally didn't feel that out of place just going for what felt like a leisurely stroll in full costume. It reminded him of one of his first nights here, when he'd had to keep reminding himself not to break into a run and just do everything at superspeed. It figured that, when he'd thought he'd gotten used to keeping himself tamped down all the time, something would come along and throw that part away too.

He'd just have to keep reminding himself that he couldn't just break into a run because he was feeling uncomfortable.

...hopefully the rest of the hallways were just as empty.
