Night 45: Men's Bathrooms M01-M40

[from here.]Yukari didn't push the door completely open right away; instead, she peered through a small crack, and when there was nothing but silence in the restroom, she then proceeded further in. Before stepping away from the door, she shined her flashlight in every imaginable direction, and thankfully it proved that they were the only occupants ( Read more... )

For the moment, Luke kept his questions to himself, following her the rest of the way to the bathroom. He followed her in, taking a similar pause to see if anyone else was there. Only then did he wonder if she knew any of his friends, but he realized he had a mission to pursue, and that he needed to get that done first. His nose wrinkled instinctively at the sight of the pipes, as he easily remembered what she said. Stinky stuff was in there? Well, this was definitely going to be a pretty interesting experience ( ... )

From where she stood, Yukari aimed her flashlight in Luke's direction to give him even more light. The more of it the better, she always thought, especially since everything was pitch black otherwise.

"It takes a little tugging," she forewarned, placing herself at what seemed like a safe enough distance. "but they'll break off eventually. Just be careful once you do."

"Just tug and pull a bit. Got it."

Luke glanced toward the position of his flashlight again and decided that, if water were to come pouring down this way, he didn't want it to become a casualty of the circumstances. He released the metal he was holding on to so he could move it away a bit. At least now he had a good idea of where he was gripping. It was a good thing, really, that he was pretty strong, from shoving around boxes, lots of sword fighting, and numerous other excursions. Though his strength felt a bit sapped here (something he hadn't figured out yet, but he figured it was something to do with where they were trapped), he figured he could handle this ( ... )

Yukari simply waited for the inevitable moment, and sure enough, it came. She took a few more steps back, even if she was already backed up far enough to avoid the water turned who the hell knew, but it certainly wasn't enough to avoid the smell. Augh, it was the same as last time, but it didn't make it any less worse to put up with.

Wafting a hand in front of her face, Yukari eyed the bits of Luke's clothing sympathetically; she may have not done anything this time (and thank god for that), but she did have experience with this that she wished she didn't have. "Guess not everyone can get lucky," Yukari murmured, then eyed the pipe he pulled out. "Does that feel good enough to you for now?"

[from here]

Why he was going into the bathroom of all places, he didn't know. He only realized how stupid it was as he was pushing through the door. Most he was going to find in here were some turds, and that probably wasn't going to help him much. Walking into the room itself didn't help change this standpoint any either.

This nasty smell smacked him as soon as he got past the door, almost bad enough to make him walk right back out again. Holy shit, what the hell was that? Weren't hospitals supposed to be clean?! Even the bathrooms at school weren't this bad on their worst day. It actually didn't take too long to spot the source: a broken sink pipe. The sink itself had splooged all over the floor with what he was hoping was water, but he wasn't planning on taking too close a look any time soon.

Actually, now that he tried paying attention, it wasn't really that the pipes had broken. It was just a whole chunk of it was completely missing. Looked like some retard had the bright idea of ripping the thing up.

Freaking brilliant...

... Freaking brilliant! Duh, why didn't he think to do that before?

Normally, Kanji would have just grabbed the chair in his room and considered the whole "weapon" problem solved, but there was no way he could run through narrow doorways with that thing and he could only swing it so much if the hallways weren't big enough. But what else could he use that wasn't too big but still worked for him? The answer was, he just had to break something apart and use a big chunk! It worked. He still wasn't sure what he'd use, but it'd work!

But what could he take apart in a bathroom that would be useful? He wasn't going the pipe route, and ripping down the hand dryer wasn't going to help much either. Too small to swing around. Kanji ignored the smell and walked further into the room, looking around for anything even semi-useful. Maybe this was a dead end after all. He could always look in another, less gross-smelling room. I mean, how many things was he going to find in a freaking bathroom? It was just sinks and soap and toilets ( ... )

The thing was screwed on just like any other toilet seat, which was one good thing, he guessed. It would be a pretty big pain in the ass getting it off without tools or anything... not that he would have just sit around quietly unhinging shit even if he had them. Looked like he was going at this the old fashioned way.

Kanji yanked on the toilet seat as hard as he could with a hard jerk. He did this a few times before he started kicking at the hinge, hoping to break part of it enough to rip the damn thing off. When he first started, he figured it'd be a piece of cake, but it ended up taking more time and effort than he thought. Eventually, he managed to snap the hinge enough and yank the seat off.

YEAH! He did it! Kanji held the seat up triumphantly. Okay, maybe it wasn't all that great a prize or anything, but it took a bit of work to get it out, okay? So he could feel accomplished if he wanted! At least now he couldn't say he went through the night without doing anything. Right? Right!
