[from here] Momo really hoped Senna was going to just stay inside her room. She didn't want to worry about her but she couldn't help it. Hopefully, Hokuto would keep her safe. She would just have to place her faith in Hokuto.
The shinigami headed out into the main hallway.

It was eerily empty for this hallway, at least compared to what Yukari was used to seeing. But others were quick and heading off to where they needed to be, as she should be doing as well. Yukari moved on; this route was all too familiar to her.

Cissnei moved quickly from the female block of rooms, shining the torch around her every so often to get her bearings and make sure that nothing nasty was waiting around the corner. Admittedly, she was confident that she could take care of a lot of nasty things just fine by herself. She might even enjoy it at the moment.

He moved on to the next corridor, no real idea of where he was going or any particular plans. It was a little strange, being without any idea of where to go next. At least when he'd first arrived on Roak, he and Milly had had a goal in mind that was less nebulous than 'escape'. Ah, what had happened to him? It was a little embarrassing.

This hallway seemed to be wider than the last one--a main hallway, perhaps? At any rate, there were a few more people here, which was kind of strange for a supposedly haunted hospital. And they were people in the most real sense of the word, too. Humans. Not demons or ghosts or vampires or...whatever the hell else. Just normal, everyday Joe the Plumbers wearing moronic hospital uniforms (which, Ruby realized belatedly, she had also been "graciously" gifted with), wandering around like they weren't trapped on the set of a B horror flick ( ... )

"A mental hospital? This doesn't look like a hospital. What do you mean, they don't pull it off at night?"
Normal in the daytime, haunted by night? It didn't make the most sense in the world, but it was better than nothing. Never mind that it didn't follow any of the usual signs of a haunting that she'd heard about. Spirits didn't usually change their surroundings like this. Sure, particularly violent ones could spew black goo, but that was about as far as it got.

A short-haired girl who looked about college age was the only one Indy saw in the hall. She was trailing the wall with her fingertips (not always a bright move, in his experience), and she was alone (even less bright, at least here), but she also seemed like she might be in a hurry. Meeting someone? If she was smart.
Pilgrim wasn't here yet. Indy stopped outside the door to the nurse's station and waited against the opposite wall, keeping an eye on the girl to make sure she was fine getting to the main hall.

Scott came out of his dash down the hall, sliding to a stop right in front of the explorer. "Hey man! Sorry it took a bit. Seems Landel left me a bit of an upgrade for whatever reason, and that threw me a bit," he explained, grabbing one side of his open jacket to emphasize what he was saying. "Anyone ever figure out why he'd do that for some people? I mean, you got your stuff back too, yeah?"
He shook his head, settling himself down some. "Anyway, not important. So what's the plan, Stan?" he asked, giving Indy a "ready to go" thumbs up.

"Nice jacket," he added, going easy on the irony. "Those pockets will hold a lot of pens. As for the plan..." There wasn't much of one, actually, but Pilgrim didn't need to know that. "...we'll patrol. Starting with the main hall and going wherever it sounds like trouble."
Yeah, there. That'd sounded like an action hero kind of thing to say.

Hime nonchalantly entered the hall, taking the attitude of other patients passing by as a sign of nothing of danger. Maybe one day there would be something lying in wait to ambush her right outside her room, but it seemed tonight was not that night. Instead she just walked among the masses and out into the main hall.
Caution could be reserved for the more remote parts of the institute, where things like last night's encounter happened.
