Night 44: M31-40 Hallway

Oct 07, 2009 18:37

[M39]When the first intercom sounded, it shook Hart at a mid-line level. It was propaganda and suppression of information flow that the institution wanted now, obviously. They'd all have to be much more careful now with the bulletins, especially if the little pet idea of the 'Evil Club' were to ever get off the ground into anything serious. For the ( Read more... )

It was more force of habit than anything else that had Bart grabbing his flashlight and heading out as soon as the door unlocked. But once outside, he nearly turned right around and went back in. Was there a point to going out tonight? What could he hope to accomplish? He didn't know where Tim and Wally were, and he had no plans...Bart supposed he could go find Alfred and see if he knew where Tim was, but the idea of running around the institute all night, with broken superspeed, just didn't appeal for some reason. It couldn't have had anything to do with that fainting spell he'd had a few nights back, when he'd overused his speed...Especially since Bart had been so careful about eating since then ( ... )

Momo arrived at M37 without an incident. It was unsurprising, given how safe the hallways seemed, though she was always wary for the Noah to come for her again. One night he would, she was certain of this.

Clad in her shinigami uniform with her katana across her back, Momo looked the hallway over again before knocking on the door.

[ From here]Like the woman waiting outside the door, Kakashi's journey to M37 had been quick and painless. Given what had happened last night, only a short distance from Sasuke's door, Kakashi knew that was nothing to take for granted. Yet the hints of his trauma and his worry were hidden just as well as his face. While Kakashi was remarkably good at keeping his presence masked when he wished, he made sure the girl would be able to pick up on his approach. Startling her wasn't how Kakashi wanted to get an idea of her instinctive response ( ... )

Hearing the man nearing her, Momo turned enough to be able to see him with her good eye. That was an interesting outfit, with the mask, but considering some of the things her peers did with their own uniforms it was hardly worth noting. She also smiled and gave Kakashi a slight bow ( ... )

"Kakashi, please." Not even his students referred to Kakashi by his family name, and he couldn't say he was comfortable having a stranger call him Hatake. But what Momo called the jounin or thought of his actions quickly became unimportant as Kakashi followed her into the room. Shikamaru wasn't there, and while his first thought ran in line with Momo's, Kakashi wasn't so quick to jump to the same conclusion ( ... )

Of course, however eager he might be, Suzaku did remember that he was only here to drop off Lelouch's things. And Lelouch probably wouldn't want to continue yesterday's argument, if his behavior up to this point was any indication. Suzaku spent the short walk to Lelouch's room trying and failing to think of something that would persuade Lelouch to talk to him, but in the end, he figured he would just wing it. If he could even get Lelouch to let him in the room.

Suzaku brought himself up short in front of Lelouch's door, swallowing hard before giving a short rap with his knuckles. What could he even say? Nothing that he hadn't already, except maybe this time he would be able to control himself better, and not just walk away. Maybe he could make Lelouch believe what he himself understood so well, what Teresa had somehow forced him to articulate. That's right, it had been like a warm-up. (A warm-up that had left him shaking.) No, Lelouch would understand. He had to.

An interesting man apparently. Kenren would have to ask around about these 'superheroes', or at least grill his new roommate. They sounded entertaining at the very least. Of course for now he had more important things to do. He slipped out of bed once the man had left, going over to the wardrobe and pulling out his uniform. The leather and metal of it was comforting in a way, another thing to hold onto.

He pulled it on quickly and then pulled out the gun, taking a few moments to check it over, making sure that everything was in working order. it was habit by now to check over his guns, even when he hadn't used them. Weapons were too important to neglect.

Tenpou wasn't there yet. Geez, had he been distracted by something? he'd wait a couple more minuted before heading out to the other meeting spot. Shame.

The announcement Landel had made was hardly surprising. Wesker had to wonder if there had been some sort of plan running underneath everything, allowing patients such open communication despite strict control in more or less every other aspect. It was rather like the night shift, locked up during the day but allowed to roam free during the night. Although it seemed Landel had learned the virtues of censorship after his brief experience of death.

Adapt, adopt, and go on about his business. Wesker rarely had suspicious things to post on the bulletin anyway, although he could see how some of his potential plans might be hindered slightly by the need to be more cryptic than usual. Not everyone was as adept at reading between the lines as he would like, although that had served him well in the past.

There was no point in dwelling on it now, Wesker needed to collect Sherry and ensure she did not come to any harm. That was particularly important if Wesker's suspicions were correct.
