Night 44: M71-M80 Hallway

Oct 07, 2009 17:38

This was a really, really bad idea.

Of course, Demyx wasn't the type to have very many good ideas, or at least ones that didn't pertain to music or ducking out of work. He knew he wasn't the brightest guy - something that had always been thrown into sharp relief in the Organization, full of scientists and people with no emotions or, in most cases ( Read more... )

He'd eaten his dinner without much fuss, thinking heavily of the evening. He wasn't really sure how yet, but he was going to have to get out of his room sometime in the night. Hopefully, he could find where his nakama were being housed without much problem.

The weird box-shaped den den mushi in the hallways had spoken in a woman’s voice and only after the second set of announcements (this time by a male) had Zoro taken notice of the one in his room. It had been a rather confusing announcement for him, but he’d gathered that the speaker was an authority of some kind. And he didn’t sound too good.

He briefly searched through the room, hoping to find something that would be of use to him. There was a flashlight and some kind of radio thing that he stuffed down the waistband of his pants. Zoro chose to forego the boots and other random things strewn about his room; he could fight well just as he was.

Now, how to get the door open…

Sokka kept from leaving his room when the doors opened. He wasn't so sure he wanted to go out at all tonight since there was now the possibility of disappearing along with there being monsters, but he had more reason than fear to stay put. Shika or someone who knew Shika would be coming by soon. He thought. Well, someone should be coming for the blade in any event.

The boy had been so relieved when he'd found it in the back of his closet. The last thing he needed was for it to have been missing. Then what he was supposed to tell everyone after all that hard work? That he'd disappeared with the thing falling through his hands? They'd probably kill him even if they couldn't throw fire. They were still from a Fire Nation, after all.

With the blade ready to be handed over, Sokka sat on his bed with his back to the wall, watching the door and waiting. If no one came, then it would be a great reason to keep from heading out. If they did... well, he could think about that later.

It had been a while, and Sokka was beginning to wonder if Shika had remembered that he was supposed to come. Or if he had remembered, but had sent someone else who had forgotten. Or... well, there were a lot of possibilities for what could have happened, but thinking beyond those first two would only make Sokka worry too much.

He paced his room a little in thought, stuck his head out the door, then came back in for some more consideration before he grabbed his usual gear and went fully out the door. Sitting still did no good for anyone, especially if no one was going to come, and Sokka had already wasted half the night waiting. He couldn't just let the rest of the night pass by in the same manner if he wanted to be of help. Shika would probably yell at him later for leaving, if he or someone else did end up coming, but Sokka had waited that long. Tomorrow night, if he didn't find anyone, he'd take the sword to them ( ... )

Lockon was a bit better prepared to step out of his room tonight than he had been the previous night. He still had the sharpened plastic darts--and more of them now as well--and now he had a rough slingshot as well. It hadn't been as easy to make as he'd thought it would be (childhood memories had lied to him), and he doubted it would last past the night--but that was all right. The materials he'd used to make it would be there again in the morning, as if nothing had happened. That was one thing about this place he could count on.

He made his way down the hall.

[from here]Brainiac 5 felt bad about lying to his roommate, but he had no intentions of staying in his room or seeking company for what he planned to do tonight. But he knew Peter wouldn't have left him alone if he'd known, so the lie had been... necessary ( ... )

Soubi left the minute he could. Of course, while he hadn't given Demyx any sort of romantic goodbye, he'd at least made some vague attempt not to seem like he was running away. He didn't have to do much since he was usually busy.

Anyway. Demyx definitely needed the rest tonight.
