Dayshift 43: Library, third shift

Aug 17, 2009 19:40

Kibitoshin left the cafeteria in what could only have been described as a state of sheer, unleaded anxiety. Why did he have to be the one Dory had spoken to first? With everything he’d said and failed to say she’d probably ended up with a reverse education. He wouldn’t have been surprised if she came out of it knowing even less than she had when ( Read more... )

This was interesting. Apparently he was free to go where he wanted today. He considered his options, before he decided to check out the library. He hadn't been in there yet, and perhaps it would contain some useful datapads.

As soon as he was left on his own and went over to the shelves, Lockdown got something of a surprise. There were no datapads. The shelves were lined with cardboard rectangles with words (which he guessed were the titles) on them. Just what kind of library was this ( ... )

Lockdown glared at the Digimon, "Don't touch me." The bounty hunter whipped his hand up to grab the offening hand firmly by the wrist, "Back off and maybe I won't break your wrist, Digimon."

The mood swing also brought more images of Blitzwing, "Also, you're really close to being labeled 'Blitzwing II' in my datapad."

Oh no, he was not backing down. "Try it an' I'll bite yer face, robot." He bared his sharp teeth again. At least those'd stayed.

"'s Beelzemon. 'm I just gonna have ta call ya 'Hey you'?"

"Ooh, I'm scared," Lockdown replied sarcastically, tightening his grip. "You really don't wanna frag me off, kid." He probably would have snapped the Digimon's - Beelzemon's - wrist by now, if it wasn't for the fact that he didn't want a nurse running over and sedating him.

"Unless you wanna lose an optic, you'll call me Lockdown."

"Ya should be, if ya wanna keep yer nose." He glared at the guy, not backing down. If he lunged in quick enough, he could do it.

It took him a second to figure out what the hell the robot was talking about. "Already done that, 's old news." Lockdown, huh? Weird name. Weirder than human name kind of weird.

Lockdown growled, and simply glared at Beelzemon for another klik or two before finally releasing him. "Touch me again, or frag me off in any way and I'll twist your head around backwards." Dinner was still a good few hours away, but he didn't know how long the sedatives lasted. He didn't want to have HK while drugged, after all.

Beelzemon took his hand back, still glaring right back. "Yeah, whatever. Been there, done that with people, I don' wanna do it again. 'least not unless I got a reason." Yeah, this wasn't his best behavior. But he was used to solving problems by shooting at them. That hadn't changed, even if he had. This was pretty damn good by his standards!

"Just consider yourself lucky that you don't seem to have anything worth taking off you," Not unless dentals could be ripped out and replaced with another set. Lockdown had considered filing his dentals at one point, before deciding against it. He figured the tattoos were threatening enough.

He also had to congradulate himself. He hadn't raised his right hand (the one that used to have the hook) out of habit this time. He didn't need a hook to threaten people.

"Then we'd be fightin'. Not a problem with that." Seriously, he'd been itching for a fight ever since he woke up. This was ridiculous, and with this guy yanking his chain, he didn't feel any reason to hide that.

"You want the nurses to drug you up to your optics, be my guest. I'll just say that I broke your arm in self-defense," Lockdown had a good feeling that he could take Beelzemon in a fight. Especially since the kid was so arrogant and short-tempered. Then again, he'd learned recently not to underestimate the learner ones.

"Already done that today too. Wasn' too bad." It just made him feel really, really stupid.

Sheesh. He wanted to go back to talking to Renamon or Loz. Someone he liked.

Lockdown raised a black-inked optic-brow at Beelzemon again. "And yet you still insisted on picking a fight with me," He snorted, picking up another book and opening it to a random page, looking down at it. "You're either the stupidest flesh creature ever or the most stubborn." And not the good kind of stubborn, like Prowl and HK.

"Yeah, cos it wasn' bad, an' I told ya, I ain' like th' humans!" Even he'd gotten the 'not digimon, not human, robot' thing down for the other guy. What was so hard to get about 'I'm made of data'?

Lockdown held up a hand, still not looking up from his book, "Okay, okay, don't fry a circuit, kid." He then waved his hand dismissively. "Human, Digimon, you're all flesh creatures in my book." The bounty hunter put his hand down, but shifted his optics up towards Beelzemon. "Unless you're actually a floating mass of bits or something."

"Nah, tha's just unprocessed data! y' can't do anythin' with that." Beelzemon sighed. This was giving him a headache. "Digimon 're made from data 's supposed ta do something. Like a program, but better."

Lockdown looked up from his book and gave Beelzemon a questioning look. "Did you get pulled out of a computer or somethin'?" The Digimon was making it sound like he was something some programmer created. He couldn't see how any living thing could be physically made out of data
