Nightshift 42: West Wing, North Hall 1-B

[from here]

Rather than being afraid of this stupid stuff, Alkaid had decided to sneer at it. There was a reason that she was one of the only ones left here, and that was probably because she was the strongest, right? She had half a mind to try to challenge the darkness, to scream at it, try to get someone's attention, but no no no that remained a really bad idea. But, but but but, she wanted to!! But, no! It was probably what they wanted her to do! Yeah, there were probably people watching her right now, seeing how she'd react to the situation! If she just concentrated on having spectators -

Alkaid stopped her train of thought once she realized it was getting ridiculous. Geez, was she gonna go crazy in this stupid, silent, creepy, abandoned building? Shut up, Chika - no, Alkaid!! You can handle a situation like this!

She ruffled her own hair vigorously with one hand, trying to compose herself. Then she caught sight of the door that might lead her to another dorm section of the building, and paused. At least she had seen people pouring out of it before, hadn't she? Maybe she should go in. No, she was going to go to the rec field to stretch! Yes! So she turned back toward the north.

Still, Alkaid couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something terrifying was roaming around in here, and whatever it was was gonna eat her right up, too...

[waitin' for some delicious vulcan surprise]
