Nightshift 39: M11-M20 Hallway

Mar 05, 2009 16:52

Nightshift at last. The Gambler left Not-Noah 2.0 without another word, pulling his hood over his head and making his way into the hallway. Tonight was going to be an interesting one, to say the least. Were it not for Grell and his idea of a date, Luxord might have been sleeping in as Landel was (and truly, he did not blame him. Even Nightshift was ( Read more... )

The corridors were quiet so early in the night, which meant that Kenren managed to get to Homura's room without any incident or delay. He knocked quietly and then leaned against the wall next to the door. "It's Kenren," he called out.

Apparently he'd been fairly quick, but not quick enough. There was already someone waiting at the door when he arrived. The man looked familiar, but it was dark without his light, so it was hard to say for sure. Should he interrupt? Or just leave the things with this one?

No, he'd best make sure Homura received it. He'd rather not have any complications. Yuuhi put on a smile as he approached and hoped he looked harmless enough to the other guy. Just because some of the ones in costume at night were dangerous, didn't mean he was.

"Hello," he waved, box in his other hand. "Is Homura in?"

No reply yet. Maybe he'd fallen asleep or something. It wasn't as though any of them had been getting a huge amount of sleep since they'd arrived. He wouldn't have been surprised, although Homura was usually more disciplined than that. It was a little odd anyway.

He smiled at the other man who arrived, giving him a small wave in response. Cute looking, not someone that Kenren knew personally at least, although he'd seen him around. And waiting for Homura too. Huh. "I'm assuming so," he replied with a shrug. "I'm waiting for him too. I'm Kenren."

Well, at least Homura's associate was nowhere near as intimidating. Yuuhi's smile brightened and he moved a bit closer to wait for the door to open.

"I'm Fai," he said simply, offering a gloved hand for Kenren to shake. "Nice to meet you."

Well, if there was one thing to be grateful for, it was the lack of that grinding screeching sound that had been present the night before. That was an adequate way to torture anyone... The night before, the doctor had sounded very normal and then switched to grumblings of death and 'preparing' things. Klavier wasn't quite sure what to expect this evening. But if anything he wasn't expecting... snoring ( ... )

"Indeed...though it's rather disturbing that he can switch so quickly between personae, whatever the case may be. I just hope that it doesn't turn out to be a trap."

Endrance nodded to Klavier as he took his flashlight and stepped towards the door, putting one hand on the knob.

"I found out today that someone I knew was here at one point. That's the reason I was asking so many questions earlier. I...I want to know what really happened to her. I've heard there's a room on the second floor where patients' things are kept, and I hope to find a clue there."

Someone Endrance knew was here and had disappeared? How awful. No one could fault the man for wanting to seek out answers. For now, it didn't seem like his roommate would find out anything particularly pleasant about the poor girl's fate. But it was best to be optimistic.

"I see," Klavier said, offering a smile. "Achtung. Do take care outside. Hope you are able to find something useful about your friend."

"Thank you...and be careful yourself, if you're going out." With that, Endrance nodded, opening the door and stepping into the hallway.

Javert dressed quickly as soon as he finished his dinner, dropping his radio and the roll of gauze into his greatcoat pockets and picking up his saber. Nodding sharply at Tanaka, he stepped out the door without another word, walking quickly down the hallway.

Tanaka didn't take long before following Javert out of the room. He already knew where he was going, and had been getting ready all evening... and now, pouch around his shoulder, umbrella in hand, he would proceed to Fwiffo's room and collect him, return to the Captain, and check in for any orders (if Zelnick wasn't still asleep) before moving on to the next activity of the night.

It was time to show that drooling psychopath why he should never nap on the job with a Shofixti around.

Though Yue retook control over his own body once night fell and he prepared to leave, he could feel Yukito's reluctance to be pushed back again, when they were going to see Touya again so soon. His mixed feelings upon seeing Touya likewise trapped in a place like this had faded over the course of the day, until he'd finally admitted to himself that, no matter what the circumstances, he was still pleased to have his friend there ( ... )

Van didn't bother to say anything to his roommate as he left. Clearly, Luxord had plans, and so did he. It wouldn't do to keep Asch waiting, especially when he was finally willing to work at his side once more.

Stepping out into the hallway, he quickly glanced both ways to make sure there was nothing dangerous in the immediate vicinity. He had no weapon and if any of the stories were true, he wouldn't want to be cornered unarmed. Once he was sure it was (relatively) safe, Van turned down the hall and hurried to M3.
