The next hallway, while wider, was less populated than the one by his room. This early in the evening, everyone must be rushing to meet up with the others in their groups. It'd make a good time for an attack, with so many people wandering around by themselves, but luckily, Landel didn't seem that bright.
After the dark emptiness of before, the hallway presented a welcome change to Depth Charge. At least there was more light here now that there were other people- and, more importantly, flashlights. Not that he didn't love blundering about in the darkness like an boltbrain, but...
Feeling the wall come to a corner, Teisel turned left again. This felt like the right way, as far as he could remember. There had to be some reason why the building was designed this way. Some kind of anti-riot thing? It was friggin' irritating; Teisel felt like starting a riot...
Naruto was a little impressed to see he'd gotten there before Jiraiya -- he usually always arrived before the older man. He tried his best to push away all thoughts of death, squaring his shoulders. He had to think about his team and the exploring they'd do tonight, or he'd get them all in trouble, and he didn't want that.
He also hoped he wouldn't get a vision in the middle of the night.
Jiraiya smiled when he saw Naruto waiting. It was rather rare to see the kid there first, but it wasn't a bad thing. The Sannin raised his hand in Naruto's direction for a moment.
He walked up to Naruto, handing him the small box. "Went to the patient possessions room last night. This is yours."
Naruto grinned when he saw Jiraiya come near, feeling the urge to wrap his arms around him into a hug. But he wasn't a child, and Jiraiya might get annoyed, and he might have too much trouble letting go.
The older man handed him something and he looked at it quizzically before taking it into his hands.
"It is?" He asked, wondering what was inside. "Did you get yours?" He asked as he opened his own, before peeking down inside it. He swallowed, his heart constricting. There was what looked like his necklace, a few pictures, a few letters from his parents. Not his real ones -- but it still made his throat close up a little. He'd have to look at them properly later, when he'd have time alone. He knew he didn't have the time right now to read or look at the pictures, not when the team would be waiting for him.
"Thanks," Naruto said, softly, giving Jiraiya a really grateful look before picking up the necklace and putting it back around his neck. He'd missed the weight of it.
Scarecrow clicked his light again as he and his roommate walked through another doorway. The darkness and completely different atmosphere were very disorienting, and he wasn't sure where they were.
"Are there stairs anywhere?" he asked, clicking his flashlight off.
"Straight ahead," Kaiji called out expertly as they proceeded down the straight hall. This was the easy part of the trip - things were going to get tricky when they actually had to figure out which specific room on the top floor Scarecrow wanted. Kaiji knew nothing of magic or body switching, so he tried his best to think of it in perspective: if he was a crazy body-swapping mental hospital, where would he keep the other bodies?
The answer fell somewhere along the lines of 'which one of you drugged my lunch, why would anyone ever do something that stupid?' That wasn't a location. Dammit!Other than the little complication of what was coming up next, though, so far so good

Jiraiya smiled and ruffled Naruto's hair after the kid put on his necklace. "Been missing that, haven't you?"
