He wouldn't let himself fall into a false sense of security for that reason alone and kept his guard up as he moved

After a moment, she turned away, moving towards the right side of the room.

If Yae were here this wouldn't have happened. If she'd stayed like she promised. If hadn't been left behind.
A mournful voice echoed through the room, everywhere and nowhere all at once. "Why did you leave me behind?"

It wasn't the same ghost, but it was a ghost. And Ururu knew she couldn't fight it like a Hollow. "We have to r-run." She tried to speak louder than she actually did, her voice little more than a timid squeek. "Don't let the ghost touch you. It's very bad!"

Sousuke moved into the room, knife at the ready, looking suspiciously at the blue flames. He didn't like this. Flames didn't float. Checking to make sure Miku was right behind him, he took a ready position.
"What's going on?" he asked anyone who would answer. The flames were making him very nervous. He didn't know how to fight flames.

HK walked into the room, his limited infrared vision picking up the forms of several meatbags and-- Well, that's certainly interesting. If by interesting, he meant 'Oh damn, not another one of these again.' He'd seen a Force ghost of a Sith Lord before on Korriban. Long-winded, going unaccountably nice, and most definitely impossible to shoot.
And then there had been that weird, cold bugbag in the hallway near the doctor's offices. As fun as it had been to run into something that bled things that wriggled like that, HK was in possession of enough of his faculties to know that the thing had merely retreated because he and Sub-Zero proved to be too much of a bother to... He had no idea what that thing had been planing to do with them, but it wouldn't have been nice ( ... )

The other patients in here seemed to be making a run for it, though, so the distraction probably wouldn't last as long as he'd like. He put one hand on HK's shoulder to get him moving in the right direction rather than say anything else.

"Let's be quick," The Bride said in low voice, skirting around some couches as she hurried across the room. She never took her attention off the ghost.

Too slow.
He'd known the moment his eyes had snapped shut. Just that moment's hesitation had cost him. He couldn't help the two, couldn't get to the door, and couldn't even escape the ghost's touch.
Though he didn't actually feel when her fingers slid along his back. What he ended up feeling was far worse for not only the pain that shot through him, but the images that came with it. He didn't understand them or recognize anything, but then again, focusing had become too difficult. All he knew was that it wasn't him. This was someone else's pain, someone else's memories, only he was the one seeing and experiencing them.
He collapsed to the floor, trying to breathe but unable to, wanting to screaming but refusing to. He couldn't even get the breath to swear! A hand moved to pull at his neck where he could feel the rope, but it touched nothing. It was there, he could feel it chocking him, but it wasn't real. Then this was just in his head?!
Dammit! What anger he couldn't express died in his mind only when his ( ... )

Ururu raced as quickly as she could to where Kurogane was. She didn't know much about healing (not like Orihime-san did), but she did know how to make sure someone was alive. And that was the first thing the little girl did, kneeling by the large man to listen to his heartbeat, and his breathing.
He was breathing. His heart was beating, and Ururu almost cried then out of sheer relief.
But she couldn't cry yet, even though tears started to well up in her eyes. They were all still in danger, because the ghost was still there, the enemy could still hurt them. Ururu picked up one of Kurogane's arms to hook over her body, scooting down near his shoulder, and tried to lift the man up. It was hard though, because Ururu wasn't as strong as she should be, and the little girl struggled to get to her feet while supporting Kurogane's weight.
"Sh-Shiki-san," The little girl was sure Shiki had followed. "I need help, please."

With that, she gave the little girl a nod, and began moving slowly. Hopefully, the shadows and the others in the room would give them enough cover to make it out safely.

"Like I said," Callisto added as they entered, eying the ensuing struggle with curiosity, "you're lucky. I happen to have the ability to get to a place down there that only a handful of the patients can."
Of course, her luck might not hold out. It was always possible she'd gotten hold of one of those heroic sorts that would step in to help any and all others in trouble they happened to pass along the way. Then if she attempted to stop him the chances of him continuing to follow her might be slim.
Damn do-gooders.
"We should hurry. She may turn her attention to us next."

Dean absently worked his tongue in his mouth, trying to get over the taste of the blood. Healing powers in it or not, he didn't intend to do a repeat; it wasn't something he was proud of or comfortable with and he didn't think he'd be telling Sam about it anytime soon.
The Sun Room was dark, the lights off when he came in. His flashlight didn't go that far, leaving most of the room still pitch black, the chairs and couches jumping at him when his flashlight fell on him. Dean took another few steps in, wishing again that Sam was on his six, and kept a tight grip on his knife as he headed for the cafeteria doors he knew were on the other side.

The sound of Sae's crying echoed strangely throughout the room, quieting gradually after the two from before left. Yae would come back too, just like he had come for her. But it was the others who stole her away. If they repented, only then would Yae come back so they could be one. Only then.
There were more visitors. A couple hesitating at the door and another, alone, cautiously walking deeper into the room.
Her sobs broke off sharply, leaving the room in a strange quiet as she got up and started walking toward the man.

Dean froze, eyes flicking and straining to see.
He didn't immediately see the girl. Not when he was facing the wrong way, the sobs seeming to come from the left side before they suddenly cut off: when he swung around, he found himself suddenly facing a girl. Blood covered the front of her robes, her face that kind of too-pale that said she was either in a very bad way or very dead. As he turned to face her, his flashlight played out on her torso, then her face: he caught a glimpse of some kind of severe bruising on her neck. Had she been strangled? Hanged?
Dean took a step back. "What's your name?" he asked, after flicking a glance down at his knife. It might have some iron in the metal from the pipes, but he wasn't one hundred percent sure. Unless he tried actually using it on the ghost, he had no way of knowing if he might be screwed or if he could actually drive her off long enough to get to the kitchen for some salt. As Dean talked, he tried to move around her, eyes on the dead-looking girl.

Tiny sparks of blue flame flickered to life around her, illuminating the room as it caused any sources of artificial light to begin to flicker and die. She reached out toward him, a single hand outstretched, searching for warmth and life.
