Nightshift 21: Room M28

Ed finished his meal and then sprawled back onto the bed, stretching languidly and running possible arrays through his head. He wasn't used to having to use them. Having them held in his mind instinctively was one thing, but it was different to have to try and make them real on paper. The shapes didn't always seem to make sense when they were ( Read more... )

Tamaki was in a funk. Not his usual outlandish funks, but a real actual depression. He'd heart his friends, and he didn't know how to fix things. He was just trying to be honest, but it had come out wrong. And now people had been taken away again, and what if it was one of them?

He left a note on his door for Azel, hoping his friend would see it, and made his way to Ed's room.

"Ed-kun?" he called out softly, knocking on the door to M28. "Are you in there?"

Ed stirred slightly, distantly registering the soft knock on his door. He rolled over and glared sleepily at it for a moment before he recognised the voice. He stumbled across the room and pulled the door open, smiling warmly at Tamaki.

"I'm here. Come in." He stood to one side, allowing the other blond to enter. "Sorry, I was just having a nap since night and day keep us occupied."

"Thank you." Tamaki inclined his head before entering the room. It looked just like his, just like Azel's. Were all the rooms the same? That was sad, really.

"Did you have a good nap?" he asked, making polite conversation. He wasn't exactly bouncing with his usual enthusiasm tonight. What if something happened to Hikaru and Kaoru?

Ed shrugged, flopping down on the bed and gesturing for Tamaki to do the same. "As good as can be expected in this place," he said wryly. "I just need to keep grabbing naps when I can and I'll be fine."

He coked his head slightly and looked Tamaki over. He wasn't good with people, but even he could tell that something wasn't quite right about his... his friend. He seemed subdued, almost sad and Ed wasn't sure how to deal with it, but he had to try. "Are you alright?" he said hesitantly, not sure if this was the right thing to be doing.
