[from here] [M23 to be exact]Momo stopped in front of Hitsugaya's room and sighed. The last time she'd seen him, he'd been sedated, so he probably hadn't noticed her dead eye. She didn't like the idea of keeping the state of it from him, but she wasn't sure if this was the right time to tell him. Then again, he'd probably notice it now

He heard Momo's voice on the other side of the door and found himself somewhat comforted by her voice. He remembered what he had said while drugged...it was more like a dream than anything else, but he remembered it, and the thought of that one thing to hold onto gave him some small measure of resolve. "Come in," he called, his eyes not leaving the blade of the deceased.

"I... I know I need to be strong, Shiro-chan, but... right now... is it okay if I'm weak?" She wasn't crying and it didn't sound like she was, yet, but it was clear she was emotionally upset. "Can I just let you protect me for the moment, feel completely safe here, before anyone else arrives? Just for a moment... and then." She drew in a ragged breath. "Then I can be strong again."

He didn't say anything at first. Instead he rose and approached her silently, taking her in her arms. "I'll always be here, Momo," he whispered quietly, just loud enough for her to hear. "I'll always protect you."

After a few moments, her body relaxed against Hitsugaya and she took a deep breath. "I know... Thank you."

Eventually, though, he did leave and made his way toward M23. He approached the door and was about to knock when he thought he heard voices. Leaning closer, he did - Hinamori and Captain Hitsugaya. Kira lowered his hand and stepped to the side. He wasn't going to interrupt them. They had known each other for ages, longer than he'd known either of them; it wouldn't be right to go inside.
He stood outside the door instead, waiting for anyone else, wondering numbly if he could have done anything to protect the strongest friend he had - had he been there at the moment.

As he approached the captain's room Hanatarou abruptly froze at the sight of a familiar figure standing near the door. It wasn't - no, it really was. "....Kira-fukutaichou?" he blurted out, eyes wide in surprise.
The healer quickly glanced around and then behind himself, halfway wondering if that meant a certain former 3rd Division captain was going to show up as well. He knew that the two of them weren't exactly, ah, on the best of terms since Ichimaru had left for Hueco Mundo, but that was still a (relatively) recent enough development that they were still automatically linked in his mind, and he couldn't help the sudden rush of worry.

And was surprised to see, which probably meant the blond was new. When his roommate started looking around nervously, Sora stepped up so that he was standing next to the other boy almost protectively. If Hanatarou was worried about something, then Sora wanted to offer some sort of moral support.
Sora looked over the stranger for a moment - he was older than both of them, but he didn't exactly appear confident himself. Sora wasn't going to assume anything about him just yet, but hopefully he would get some more information about who he was once the man and Hanatarou got to talking.
He just hoped a familiar face showed up soon. Artemis, maybe?

"Yamada," he said, slightly surprised. Nobody'd mentioned him yet - but the presence of a healer from the fourth like him was something of a good sign. And yet, at the same time, even his presence hadn't been enough to stop this from happening.
Shortly after them, another young man arrived, one completely unfamiliar to him and with human reiatsu. He glanced at him silently, then over at the door, before looking back to Hanatarou.
"I didn't know you were here, too."

All at once, agony shot through his body. It felt like someone was stabbing stakes into his body, and the side of his face with that intricate tattoo felt like it was blazing, so hot that he could hardly breathe. The pain of the night before had been intense... this pain was overwhelming, something he could barely stand.
He managed to get to his bed before he flopped onto it, and he slipped into unconsciousness soon thereafter. It was like his body and soul were shutting down in an attempt to heal themselves, leaving the young man oblivious to the world around him.

The door leading to M22 came within reach. Two people already were hovering by the area, but they seemed focused on the neighboring room. Ken found little trouble in drawing away their attention, despite juggling four clunky objects between hands. Quietly, he ducked behind their backs and--after shifting around more items--knocked on Adelheid's door.
There was no immediate response. After a brief hesitation, Ken turned the knob and ventured a foot in. "Adelheid-san?"

The door was open, but Edgeworth's sense of propriety meant that he still knocked on the outside door frame before entering. Something didn't seem right, though. "Adelheid? Are you all right?" He called out briefly.
He looked over to Phoenix, with a worried look, then stepped in.

He managed to avoid running into the kid who was also just inside the doorway, if only because the flashlight beam grazed the top of his head. He glanced down, smiling a little as he recognized the face in profile. "Oh, Ken. Hey." He had his arms full and was carrying something that Phoenix's mind initially brushed off as a pole or a length of pipe, absorbed as he was in looking for whatever or whoever Miles was expecting. "What are you doing he-" He trailed off as his flashlight came to rest on someone on the bed, sprawled against the sheets in that distinctive fell-there-and-stopped-moving way that Phoenix had seen a few too many times in person and far more often than that in photographs.
"Edgeworth?" he asked slowly, in a tone that was its own added could you please take a look at that and now?.

The monk didn't stick around too long. More and more people were arriving, Gods knew why, and the monk had zero interest in finding out what was up. No doubt something to do with Hitsugaya's group.
Sanzo remained long enough to get dressed without straining his injuries, the gun hidden among his robes, and was out the door.
