[from here] [M23 to be exact]Momo stopped in front of Hitsugaya's room and sighed. The last time she'd seen him, he'd been sedated, so he probably hadn't noticed her dead eye. She didn't like the idea of keeping the state of it from him, but she wasn't sure if this was the right time to tell him. Then again, he'd probably notice it now

Eventually, though, he did leave and made his way toward M23. He approached the door and was about to knock when he thought he heard voices. Leaning closer, he did - Hinamori and Captain Hitsugaya. Kira lowered his hand and stepped to the side. He wasn't going to interrupt them. They had known each other for ages, longer than he'd known either of them; it wouldn't be right to go inside.
He stood outside the door instead, waiting for anyone else, wondering numbly if he could have done anything to protect the strongest friend he had - had he been there at the moment.

As he approached the captain's room Hanatarou abruptly froze at the sight of a familiar figure standing near the door. It wasn't - no, it really was. "....Kira-fukutaichou?" he blurted out, eyes wide in surprise.
The healer quickly glanced around and then behind himself, halfway wondering if that meant a certain former 3rd Division captain was going to show up as well. He knew that the two of them weren't exactly, ah, on the best of terms since Ichimaru had left for Hueco Mundo, but that was still a (relatively) recent enough development that they were still automatically linked in his mind, and he couldn't help the sudden rush of worry.

And was surprised to see, which probably meant the blond was new. When his roommate started looking around nervously, Sora stepped up so that he was standing next to the other boy almost protectively. If Hanatarou was worried about something, then Sora wanted to offer some sort of moral support.
Sora looked over the stranger for a moment - he was older than both of them, but he didn't exactly appear confident himself. Sora wasn't going to assume anything about him just yet, but hopefully he would get some more information about who he was once the man and Hanatarou got to talking.
He just hoped a familiar face showed up soon. Artemis, maybe?

"Yamada," he said, slightly surprised. Nobody'd mentioned him yet - but the presence of a healer from the fourth like him was something of a good sign. And yet, at the same time, even his presence hadn't been enough to stop this from happening.
Shortly after them, another young man arrived, one completely unfamiliar to him and with human reiatsu. He glanced at him silently, then over at the door, before looking back to Hanatarou.
"I didn't know you were here, too."

When Sora stepped up behind him the healer was a little surprised, wondering why the other seemed to be almost trying to defend him. At the same time, though, he couldn't help but feel a tiny bit encouraged and pleased that someone would do so. Maybe he could still make new friends here.
After a second's slightly awkward pause, he glanced between Sora and the other shinigami and forced a small smile. "Er, this is my roommate, Sora-san. Sora-san, this is, um, Kira-fukutaichou. From the 3rd Division."

"You too," he said quietly in response to Sora, more out of automated politeness than anything else. "Until they're ready."
Because he was the last person in existence who would interrupt those two before something as difficult as this.

But it looked like there might be some general information given out here, if Kira needed it. Sora watched the conversation between the two, figuring that he could add in any bits that Hanatarou might miss if he decided to give the other shinigami a briefing on Landel's.
Now that he was a little closer to M23, he was fairly certain that the other voice coming from the room was Momo's. At least it was someone he knew. Now that he was thinking about it, Sora had interacted with a lot of the shinigami here, and it was all thanks to Renji. Realizing that made it that much harder to acknowledge that the man was no longer here.

Someone that Hitsugaya had been waiting for.
He listened in quietly, glancing around the hallway on occasion to see who else was going to be there. So far, not as many people as he personally thought Renji warranted. But he wasn't going to say anything, not until it was all over and he was far away, exploring some other dark fringe of the institute or back in his room.

But then the healer heard Hitsugaya's comment and quickly glanced back over, eyes widening. "Fowl-san...?" he echoed quietly, taking a step closer without realizing it. He wasn't entirely sure what it meant to be "taken" but it certainly didn't sound good.

It kind of made him wish Kairi was here (not so that he could hug her!), and he glanced around, wondering if she would show up. He would have thought she would want to be here, but maybe she just hadn't heard the news...
When he heard what Hitsugaya said, Sora exclaimed, "Artemis?" It was almost in unison with Hanatarou, and he moved a half-step toward the group of three as well. Of all the nights, was it really true that Artemis had been abducted for experiments?

Upon hearing that Artemis had been taken for experimentation, Momo assumed she'd be going with Hitsugaya to rescue him. Damnit, she wasn't going to let him leave her behind. She'd already informed Hanatarou that she required his healing skills this night, so, after giving a nod to the captain, she moved to the group with the shinigami and Sora.
"Hello," she said to Sora, then nodded to Kira, before turning to Hanatarou.
"Yamada-san," she said. "The situation has changed. Please, let's make haste about taking care of my injuries." She then stepped back toward the door to Hitsugaya's room, not sure if the privacy of the room was going to be needed. The injury was on her lower torso, so she might have to partially disrobe. if that was the case, she wasn't going to do it in the hall.

They must have all become very good friends here. He felt slightly alienated by the sudden rally, but made no motion of it, eyes and mouth as still as ever.
Then Hinamori appeared, asking Yamada about ... injuries? He started a bit at that. He knew her eye was bad, and her wrist, but ... was she hurt somewhere else? Kira started to speak, but silenced himself. No, she was clearly in a hurry. Mindless questions would only hold her back.
He'd ask her again tomorrow, if someone else hadn't died.

He turned and nodded to the other two, even venturing a small smile in Sora's direction before he moved away for a little bit of privacy.

Still, now he'd been left with someone he barely knew, and now wasn't the time for idle chatting or getting to know someone. Sora tried to focus on that conversation going on between Hitsugaya and Rangiku. It seemed like they were arguing about something, but he was going to have to get closer if he wanted a proper idea of what was going on.
He glanced to Kira for a moment, indicating that he hadn't completely forgotten about him, before moving over to the two shinigami.
