Nightshift 35: West Wing, South Hall 1-B

Left led outside, further down the hall at least. Callisto reminded herself absently of this as she went the opposite direction. In the future she might see what all the fuss was about, but not now. The announcements only made her current target all the more interesting.

Naomi reached the main hall between the men's and women's dorms before her flashlight started to flicker. She frowned, smacking it against her hand, trying to coax an unwavering beam from the weakening batteries. At least she was comfortable, in her black leather jacket zipped up just enough to be considered decent - though the style of jacket gave her far more cleavage than she'd prefer - and the slit skirt. She felt more prepared, more in the right mindset for wandering around these damned hallways.

Now if only her flashlight would cooperate....

As he turned down the next hall he came to, Matsuda was kind of underwhelmed to find it was another hall that seemed to be near patient blocks. He couldn't really help it much, he supposed, but at least he had found out something. It was probably something that Light and L would have already known, but he would probably need to figure out this place's layout on his own, just to make sure he'd remember where everything was. A map would be nice...

He did, however, notice a lady in the hall who seemed to be having trouble with her flashlight. Matsuda found himself drawing closer, and was kinda shocked to see just how she was dressed. She looked...well, kinda like a prostitute, but he had to admit she looked really good like that! Even if she did look even more like she didn't belong in this place, but she seemed to have an idea of what she was doing ( ... )

Naomi looked up quickly, eyes narrowing out of habit at being approached by a stranger. A stranger who was asking her a remarkably stupid question. If she was hitting her flashlight and glaring at it, what did he think? But he looked relatively harmless, and he was probably just trying to help. There was no need to be snippy with him.

"Batteries are dying," she said, shaking it until the feeble beam steadied some. "Guess I'm lucky they lasted this long." She shrugged. "I'll have to see if I can find some more, that's all." At least she wasn't going terribly far.

"Are you out here by yourself?"

Matsuda was rather proud of himself for looking at her face while she spoke, as opposed to her cleavage, and gave her a sheepish smile. "Oh, yeah...I...guess I probably could have gotten that eventually without having to ask." There hadn't been much harm in actually asking, at least. The more he thought about it, it really was a stupid question, but she hadn't outright told him that. That was good. Also, the more he thought about it, the more familiar the woman's face looked. He just couldn't really place it.

"Hm? Yeah, I am." Matsuda rubbed at the back of his head, looking down and trying not to make it obvious that he was staring. "I was told not to be, but I figure I need to get something done. Gotta help out around here somehow!" Then again, he didn't really have much of a clue what would classify as monsters, what to look out for that might be good, or a weapon. Most people would call that stupid before they called it help.

"What about you? Are you out here by yourself, too, or were you going to meet someone?"

Once Claude entered this particular block of the building, he was forced to slow his pace down. As far as he could remember, he'd never really wandered around here before. Tongue sticking out of his mouth a little, he hastily shined his flashlight onto his maps. There was a huge blank space where he assumed M120 was. (Man, he really needed to get with the program and fill out the missing pieces, didn't he?) Hopefully it was there, because if it wasn't, he was going to have to ask for directions.

After tucking his maps away, Claude passed what he figured was the female block and continued going north.

If Sora hadn't already known that he was getting close to the female block, the woman who he spotted in the hallway would have given him a clue. She was dressed kind of strangely, though, wasn't she? Then again, a lot of people seemed to be getting their outfits back for some reason. He kind of wished the same thing would happen to him, though he also knew it wasn't too important.

The lady seemed to be having some trouble with her flashlight, and Sora frowned in worry, wishing he could do something to help. But he got the feeling his own batteries were going to die on him soon, so there wasn't much he could do about that. Hoping that she would be all right (she was still near the patient blocks, so she wasn't in too much danger), Sora stepped through the door into the female block.

Sheena stalked all the way out of the women's block without bothering to look back at Raine. How dare she do that?! As if she had one ounce of interest in that... that... philandering idiot!

...where was he anyways?

The reminder that she still hadn't seen him, caused her to slow down and worry to slip into her eyes. Aside from that, she still appeared angry.

Would you really? Raine wondered, silently. From what I remember, he's likely fine... but from what he remembers, he did die.

She caught up with Sheena but said nothing; she'd made her point. Maybe now the girl would stop asking.

Sheena's eyes flickered over to Raine, noting how the half-elf seemed a little disturbed by her thoughts. Was it something she said? What did she say anyways? She sometimes didn't recall everything that came out of her mouth when she lost her temper or was on the verge of doing so.

"Just for the record, I still think you liked her, but I'll let it go," she said quietly. "For now."

She walked further down the hallway and then stopped at the end. She turned back to stare down the hallway behind her, a worried look on her face as she idly twirled one of her seals. What if... something happened to him before she got to see him?

Raine met her eyes, but still didn't say anything. Zelos is most likely gone, again--I should tell her, but since she will be upset, now isn't the best time. Tomorrow? Except we have visitors then, and we won't know until it happens if she can expect to see anyone...

If she saw Zelos himself, that might be especially bad for a number of reasons.

She was almost into the main area now. And she hadn't yet seen monsters or other dangerous creatures. That was a good thing; a very good thing. Hanyuu had never been a very optimistic person, but maybe tonight would be different. Maybe she could get through it without running into anything that wanted to eat her.

...somehow, that seemed unlikely.

"Auauauu..."
