Now to get back to her room so she could catch up on her new-found reading. She continued to skirt around the edges of the room, trying to keep her flashlight as inconspicuous as possible. It was so annoying that she couldn't control it's brightness anymore.

As Rukia and Rinali moved closer to the entry way adjacent to the file rooms, Rukia heard a lot of noise. She hadn't bothered to switch her dying flashlight back on, which was probably a good thing. Several figures - one of them very large - were engaged in combat.
Contrary to her usual behavior, Rukia did not immediately go to see if she could help. Turning back to Rinali, she whispered, "I think, if we just go to the right, we can get to one of the file rooms."
Rinali glanced in the direction of the large figures involved in combat. "Do..do you think they need help?" she asked cautiously, but as Rukia seemed intent on getting to the file room, it was quite possible whatever was in the file room was urgent.
Rukia heard a particularly painful-sounding thud when she turned to look at Rinali, but when she had turned back to the fight on the other side of the room, she still couldn't really tell what was happening. One of the combatants seemed to have a flaming sword, so they would probably be able to defeat the large figure that seemed to be some kind of monster. At least, that was what Rukia told herself. They would be fine. She wouldn't be of any help.
"Well," she said quietly, "It's three against one. And they have at least one sword. I think they'll be okay." She tried to sound certain.
