[from dinner post]

... the doctor sounded tired. Shawn wasn't sure if he preferred that voice or the more youthful one in the second announcement but either way, he figured, this guy's still fucking nuts.Talk about Sci-Fi gone wrong. Gus would've loved this, even if Shawn knew the other wouldn't have been able to stop shaking in his slippers long ( Read more... )

Dinner was mostly uneventful, seeing as how Wolfram had collapsed onto the bed as soon as he was brought into the room, barely even acknowledging his roommate He curled up in the blankets and finally allowed the darkness to completely swallow his consciousness for a while. He didn’t even bother to taste the food, not even the ice cream, looking forward to the idea of just forgetting everything, if only for a few hours ( ... )

Hitsugaya stepped outside of his room, curious by the words on the intercom. So the walls were actually deceptively short, protected by some kind of shield...and from Martin Landel's words, it seemed those shields might have gone down.

Screw the previous mission. The key could wait. If they could actually scale the walls tonight, have a chance at escaping and hiding even until the morning, they could find out a lot more than just discovering where the key he had went. Who knew how long this opportunity would last?

Still, first things first, he had to meet up with Rukia. So after dressing into his uniform and grabbing his blade, he stepped out of his room and leaned against the wall, waiting for the other shinigami.

From here.

Rukia's flashlight was flickering badly by the time she reached the hallway in which Captain Hitsugaya's room was located. She noticed that shaking it seemed to help for a moment, but it dimmed again soon after. She couldn't make out the room numbers on the doors in the dim light, but she thought she could see a small figure with light-colored hair further down the hallway.

Hesitantly, she approached. "C-Captain?"

It was for the best that Rukia couldn't make out Hitsugaya well, or she would see the annoyed look on his face. Still, it carried over well to his tone of voice as he addressed her. "Kuchiki-san," he said. "Care to tell me why you didn't meet with your group last night?"

Rukia closed the rest of the distance between them, shutting off her own light to conserve whatever energy it had left. "I'm sorry, sir," she said, looking down. "I was not feeling well yesterday, a-after my doctor visit. I went back to my room, and didn't awaken again until night." Which technically was not true, since she had been awake most of the time she was in her room. She simply hadn't been in any state to deal with people, let alone lead a group.

"Again, I apologize for my irresponsible behavior, sir." Apologies meant nothing, though. Rukia was prepared for whatever punishment Captain Hitsugaya deemed necessary.

Hm... now that was an interesting turn of events. A very worrisome turn of events, too; too many things were changing all at once, as though the Head Doctor was moving right along his scheme and wasn't hampered at all by everything that the patients were doing. If that was true, then Adelheid could only fear that they were losing, which... which put Rose even further out of his reach.

And there was nothing to make, alchemy-wise. Zuko hadn't posted, and he didn't have a copy of the keys. Well... that left him free to try something else, at least. Perhaps to see if he could get out of the Institute and try to explore or something. At least he was rather more armed than the average individual; he took flashlight and rapier in hand, and waited outside of the door as he considered his next course of action. ...and once again, he was shocked at himself, hesitating because he didn't have a partner. In times past, he would have sworn that he needed nothing of the sort...

No roommate tonight. Ed didn't know what had happened to Hiei, but it was enough to make his temper flare again, the spark he needed to get his blood boiling once more, make him want to hurt something, one particular something, more than he'd wanted to ever before.

He dressed quickly, pulling on his coat and pants but leaving the gloves in his pocket for now. He didn't want to bloody them with Envy's filth. He stepped outside and quickly spotted Adel along the corridor. He should warn him about Envy, and probably ask him to keep an eye on Tamaki, just in case Ed didn't... No that was stupid because Ed always won. It wouldn't be like last time. There was no familiar face that he could change to to make Ed pause.

He approached Adel, expression deadly serious. "Hey, Adel. I have a favour to ask."

Now that was strange... normally Edward was either grinning or aggravated, never with that deadly serious expression that he was wearing now. All of the times that Adelheid had seen it before, it had always been a tremendously bad thing. And a 'favour'... that was worrisome as well.

Very worrisome, if Adelheid was right. The taller boy inclined his head, worried about what that request might be. "I do owe you one, so ask away."

Ed went to lean against the wall next to his friend, fingers clenching and unclenching in frustration. He wanted to punch something and if it was Envy's face than so much the better. Any part of Envy. Even a generic monsters would be appreciated.

"I need you to take care of Tamaki," he said, the implication that Ed might not be able to very obvious.

What the hell was going on this nightshift?

This wasn't the first sign that something had just crawled up Landel's ass, but it was the biggest one he'd noticed so far. That intercom message (no doubt not his doing), the strange behavior, the doors opening right in the middle of his speech?

All signs pointed to Landel losing the control he'd so prided himself on. Even though he'd killed Jack, another head had risen from that particular corpse.

"Jill", huh?

Sanzo dropped the used cigarette on the floor and ground it out with a sandle.
