By the time fourth shift came, Renamon was mentally tired. Even though she was able to somewhat sort her thoughts last shift, since Kaneyoshi had never shown, she was still a more somber fox than she usually was. As much as she didn't want to believe it, she was starting to think that she was looking for connections where there weren't any

Outside. Yuffie liked being outside.
The nurse accompanying her had patiently listened to her chattering all the way from the cafeteria. Not about anything important, of course. Inane stuff- the colour of the walls, the number of patients, and why couldn’t the uniform be green? Had patiently attempted to reign her in when the skip in her step got a little out of hand. Had just handed her a 'Frisbee' and told her to have fun, but to be on her best behaviour; no trouble, please!
Yuffie looked at the Frisbee, looked at the nurse, and grinned broadly. "No worries," she said with a salute, before she launched herself into an exuberant set of cartwheels.
Skidding to a halt once she was a good distance away, the young ninja bounced up and down a few times, taking stock of the area. It wasn't as big as she would've liked, and it was kind of plain; a flat area of grass with a couple of goal-posts at either end, and not much else (other than a few people, though it was still relatively empty).
Still, it was outside! Fresh air ( ... )

Kairi couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief as she was led out to the Recreational field, her eyes falling shut as she felt the soft breeze on her face. Just to be outside was a pleasant change in scenery.
Lifting her arms over her head, the once princess stretched all the way from the tips of her fingers to the tips of her toes, a content yawn escaping her lips soon after. A good stretch always put her in a better mood!
Opening her eyes, Kairi saw someone that looked vaguely familiar. Blinking in surprise, she moved close to the girl, her head tilted to the side in slight question. She looked familiar, but … didn’t? There was only one way to find out. “Yuffie?”

She had been content to ignore the presence of the other person- she'd noticed them approach, heard their footsteps, and hadn't recognized them. The newcomer seemed harmless, though, and most of Yuffie's attention remained on disc.
Until she heard her name, that was.
Yuffie caught the disk behind her back with her left hand, tossing it quickly over her head again and to her right hand. "Huh?" She asked intelligently, turning a little to face the newcomer more directly.
Red hair, blue-violet eyes that were a little similar to her own... Just a kid; she couldn't be any older than Yuffie herself had been when she'd first joined up with Avalanche. And was it just her, or did the interloper look a little roughed up..?
"Who're you?" She blurted.
It wasn't like she'd never strangers recognize her, but here? What were the chances? And the uncertain, surprised way the kid was acting...

well, this was awkward. Perhaps they could just start over now?
“But, yes. It’s nice to meet you! … again.” A pause, and the once princess tilted her head to the side, a curious smile crossing her lips. “That was pretty cool, what you were doing with the Frisbee.”

The Bride sat down in the grass and rest her chin upon her hand, watching the other two in the field, one working on a form and the other seemingly playing with the frisbee. An experienced eye told her there was more to that girl's acrobatic display than simple fun, so she was content to sit and watch.
Hopefully Hanyuu would come outside. She hadn't seen the girl in a while and... to be truthful, Beatrix just wanted to hold her. She missed her daughter terribly and, though Hanyuu wasn't a substitute, she still instilled that kind of response form the Bride.

Alkaid was actually pretty excited to go outside. She'd missed her chance earlier, but that was just a trip to the greenhouse, anyway, and she hadn't really been interested in potting plants. And she'd met Haseo, too. Knowing he was here was really kind of reassuring. But right now, this was a chance to clear her mind of that stupid guy during lunch.
Not only that, but it was a good way to test the limits of this body. She didn't get to run around in a form like this all day for real, so she might as well see how far it could go. Alkaid was still dizzy from last night's little event, so she wasn't going to go doing handstands or anything, but stretches would do for now.
So Alkaid bent at the waist, wrapping her hands around her ankles when she got there. Slowly, from there, she lowered her head to the ground. She could feel that stray piece of white-pink hair touching the grass below, and then the rest of her head. Wow, pretty flexible, huh? And all it took was 130 levels!

The nurses continued to insist that Rukia use crutches, so she hobbled out into the yard, glad to at least be outside. It was a nice day, and there were only a few other patients around. One girl with red hair was stretching, and Rukia realized that she hadn't taken much time to stretch, especially since she'd lost her toes. Making her way toward the other girl, Rukia stopped a comfortable distance away; the red-head could ignore her, or choose to say hello, without seeming too awkward.
Dropping her crutches to the ground, Rukia gently nudged her slippers off. Her right foot was still bandaged, but the pain seemed less every day. Besides, the feel of grass on her bare feet reminded her of her childhood.

That was when she spotted the girl sitting nearby. She didn't move from the backbend possition; instead, she let the blood flow to her face as she greeted her. "Hi."
Certainly not one to pry into other people's injuries - and hoping the other Japanese girl didn't bring up the bite marks on her neck, which was rather exposed at the moment - Alkaid opted for a different question. "Kinda boring waiting for night to come, huh?"

But, back to the question. "Yes, it is," Rukia agreed as she slowly stood up again. She was especially anxious for the coming night to begin; hopefully Captain Hitsugaya would allow her to go to the file room, but she suspected that would not be the case.
"I'm Rukia," she continued. "What's your name?"

Now this was more like it. Seiya took a soccer ball, and kicked it into the air, balancing by nudging it back and forth in the air over each knee. It wasn't her favorite sport, but it'd do in a pinch, and she'd always loved this sort of thing.
The downside was that she was used to playing with guys, not girls. The upside, some of the girls around here seemed pretty tough, maybe someone would be up to a serious game? Well, as serious as could be arranged with the nurses watching carefully for any 'violent behavior' and on a shrunken field.
Seiya glanced around hopefully, after nudging the ball in the air one last time, then starting to balance it on the edge of her foot for as long as she could. She saw some people stretching, but...

She thought she might see if she could kick a ball around with Falis, but the thought slipped her mind when she saw Momo, and then her breath caught in her throat when she got a good look at the shinigami. The fight had been sounding bad, but...
Hokuto took a moment to just get herself under control; she couldn't cry every time someone she knew got hurt. But... she'd only been a few feet away when Momo got hurt, and hadn't heard a thing to make her think she needed to run in--she couldn't deny she'd been distracted, but she'd never stopped listening. There had been little or nothing she could do against Signum, and it would have felt awful to go up against her in battle, but feelings didn't listen to logic. And more than anything else, she ( ... )

There was no need in the shinigami's mind to draw any attention to the nasty gash across her lower torso. It was best to let Hokuto think the broken wrist was the worst of it. "Did you have any trouble last night? I know some people got past you and Rosenburg-san, but don't worry about that - some were bound to."

"So what's the plan tonight?" Even if Momo wasn't going, she probably knew, and finding things out in advance was usually preferable.
