If he could get that mirror tonight, that would be a very good start. Or at least if he managed to help someone on his way there, that would be something. He couldn't continue to be this useless.

He pulled out his pipe, even though he probably wouldn't use it at first, and waited for Kaito to show up.

Kaito came to a stop outside of Hattori's room. He was rather looking forward to training with the detective again, now that his talk with Aidou after that therapy session had cheered him up. While he valued distractions, it wouldn't have been good for him to keep wondering about what Wilson had said all night... or longer. His head was clear now, and he could focus.
He took a breath and knocked on the door, grinning. "Hattori?" he called before pushing the door open. "I'm coming in!"

"Think fast!" Heiji shouted, charging as Kaito came through the door. The detective's hand shot out, aiming to grab the wrist Kaito had used to open the door.

It took his mind a moment more to equate the sudden rush to… well, something that wasn't arrest. It had to be training, or just play; Hattori's shout had been "Think fast!", not "Don't move!" He was Kaito to the detective, after all, not Kid.

In any case, the swordsman had no need to leave his room for the night, yet the thought of doing nothing while the rest of the patient population was diminished significantly did not sit well with him at all. Oriya sighed, gathering his supplies quickly before grabbing his flashlight and slipping into the hall. Perhaps he could find himself a job needing to be done.
