Nightshift 32: M91-100 Hallway

May 30, 2008 09:31

Sync slipped out of his room without a sound, pressing up against the wall as he listened for anything within the hallway. Even after what he’d read on the bulletin the God-General couldn’t afford to make stupid mistakes, treading cautiously until he was absolutely sure that nothing else was lingering there alongside him ( Read more... )

Yuuhi waved goodbye to Allelujah before he headed out for the night, grabbing only his flashlight and his crutch to help him reach his destination. Any other night he might not be in such a rush, but he had to speak with Sakura before Kurogane arrived. There was too much riding on what she already knew.

Though he couldn't exactly run as he used to, he hobbled quickly down the hall and toward the female block. He did have the advantage in one aspect. Even if he wasn't sure what number Sakura might be in, he knew her magic, knew what it felt like. It wasn't as strong as it once had been, but it should be enough for him to track her down before Kurogane arrived. Maybe not by much, but it was his only option.

Despite what he expected of himself, Danny hadn't spent the previous night doing absolutely nothing in his room. While most of the night was spent mulling over the people he'd injured, he had also been wondering: he was in his ghost form that night. Maybe he could transform now? Granted, he had all his powers returned back then, but still...it was worth a shot, right? Danny was extremely glad tonight that he tried transforming. As it turned out, Danny was able to transform again. He had no idea how or why he could, but he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Danny stepped out of M91 once he was absolutely sure the room was empty--the last thing he needed was for Dib to see him transform. He still remembered how easily excited he was. With a flashlight in hand, he headed down the hallway. Danny didn't want to risk wasting any power, since he was pretty sure that it was still severely restricted.

Tyler slipped silently out of his room, radio tucked in his robe pocket and flashlight gripped in his hand. He shined the beam up and down his hall as he stepped out, then headed for the corridor where he'd arranged to meet Reid.

He hoped the blond was in a better mood tonight.

All in the valley of Death, rode the... one, or five, depending on how one counted. Mark recalled a message about Hitsugaya having notes for him, but no message had been left about meeting at Hitsugaya's room, or at any time tonight. So for the moment, his direction was up and out, towards the field with the short wall for scaling. Before he left, he took the copies of the maps (including the one in progress) and the improvised weapons he was still due to give back to Sasuke were tucked at his waist. Flashlight in hand, he headed out, to see what the night had waiting for him this time. He'd been lucky thus far, even if he might have called it more caution than luck. Eventually that would have to run out.

Harry was surprised by the sudden change in the voice coming from the intercom. Such a sudden shift from the almost inanely cheerful personality he'd heard during the day to this. It reminded him a little of his father and how well he'd hidden his murderous tendencies when he was simply Norman Osborn, only letting them out as the Green Goblin. The similarities brought back uncomfortable memories, both of the Goblin and himself.

Equally surprising was the click of the door unlocking. He had been told they could wander around freely during the night, but hadn't honestly believed it. He especially hadn't expected to just be let out by the people running this place. Looked like he was going to have to get someone to explain the deal here to him again later, only this time he'd have to actually listen.

Shaking himself out of his reverie, Harry fished under the pillow of his bed, finding the flashlight right where Peter had said it would be. Testing that it worked, he headed out.
