This was where all the hallways for this block met up. He'd need to turn left (avoiding the bathrooms, he didn't trust those at all) and head out to the main one. He didn't turn the light on just yet, listening for anyone or anything that might be nearby.
The hallway was eerily silent, but the boy continued pressing forward toward the exit. He had to stick with his one path; tonight was not the night to get lost.
This area seemed to be quiet enough. Ideally, he'd make it to the group without encountering anything on his own. First men's block? The block numbered from 1 to 40, at a guess. He carried his flashlight on since there was so little light, and moved at a slow jog. Mark didn't want to wear himself out of breath before he even got there, but he also knew lingering was dangerous.
Okay, so he didn't think he was lost or turned around yet, although he still had a way to go before he hit the main halls. As far as he could tell, looking around with the flashlight and listening hard, he was still in the patient blocks.
Straight through, third hallway down, second door in-- that was where M99 should be, just as it had been last night. He made sure to look at the numbers to ensure that the place wasn't trying to change even subtly with the nights. They were the same. Good.
