[Scoobies + Bella's epic field day: readystartgo]

Taking his pick between sun and no sun wasn't that hard of a choice, really. Angel ended up in the Sun Room on a couch near the back, facing the entrance to keep an eye on anyone coming in. And by the window. The window and its resulting sunlight was important ( Read more... )

Bridget has ducked back into his room briefly to pick up Roger, then went straight to the Sun Room. He spotted Allen and the girl, Rhode? speaking to each other and decided to keep an eye on them, but not to butt in unless things went a little crazy.

He picked out a spot where the sun reached him and started to examine Roger. To a casual glance, he might've looked like he was just playing with the teddy bear.

Meeting Kairi at breakfast had been just what she needed! It was so nice to meet other girls here who weren't completely insane! However, before they could get very far into their conversation, the nurses decided that it was time to end breakfast and move along to some other kind of activity. Kagura was hesitant, but did as she was told. She asked again about Hatori, but was given the same answer: Dr. Sohma doesn't accept female patients ( ... )

Bridget smiled warmly up at the young girl who approched him. Scooting over a bit to make more room, he nodded. "Sure! Please, go right ahead!" At the comment about Roger, he laughed softly and placed the bear at a better angle for her to see.

"Thank you," he chirped. "This is Roger." He looked over at her, waiting for a name.

Kagura was glad the boy seemed nice. She reached a hand out to pat the bear's head. "It's very nice to meet you both," she said shyly. "My name is Sohma Kagura." The girl bowed her head out of habit before she pulled out a chair and took a seat, folding her hands neatly in her lap.

She met the boy's eyes and gave him a little smile. He looked to be about Momiji's age, so probably a couple years younger than she was. "I... I'm kind of new here and... and the nurse said I should try to make friends. I hope it's not a bother."

Omi could hardly believe his luck when a nurse finally came to collect him, wheeling him into the sun room 'to get a bit of sun for his health.'

Oh, could this day possibly get any better?

Ken happily escaped from the breakfast table (really, he'd thought that Gluttony was going to start chewing on the table next,) and made his way to the Sun Room.

He had no desire at all to get beaned with a book again. Libraries really weren't his thing. Glancing around the room, his eyes almost immediately landed on Omi, widening as he saw his team leader's sorry condition. He hurried over, worried and kicking himself for not being there.

"Omitchi, what the hell happened?"

Right, why did he even bother wondering, anymore? If Aya showed up, the humiliation would be complete.

But taking that out on Ken wouldn't be fair, however little he felt like being 'fair' right then. If he sounded tired, like he really didn't want to talk about it, Ken would surely forgive him, right? "Just the usual nighttime stuff. I'll be fine."

Ken moved a chair around so it faced Omi and sat in it. "You're not supposed to join me in the 'lost a kidney' club, dammit."

He frowned and leaned forward, putting his hand on Omi's knee. "Maybe I should start going with you at night."

According to the Head Doctor, there wasn't going to be a chance to go outside. He sighed as the nurse came to lead him to the Sun Room or the library, a choice that was no choice. Armand liked books, but he still couldn't help thinking they were alien and strange since his recent discoveries. He didn't know if there'd be one lurking that he didn't want to see or let anyone else read.

So he pretended he wasn't hurting, and even pretended he wasn't hungry, since she remarked on how little he'd eaten. It wasn't exactly easy to shrug that off, but he found it in him to lie to her. He let her find him a comfortable chair in the Sun Room where he could look for Anthy. Anthy was such a pretty girl. He wished he'd had a chance to see her more happy. Maybe now she was feeling better, she would be.

"I do hope I'm not taking you away from something important."

Citan had left the library to meet with Armand quickly, not bothering to continue his perusal of the books. It was only frustrating him after all. And there were more important things to attend to. He approached the younger man with a kind smile, hands folded behind his back.

He was interested to get a look at the injuries Armand had suffered the night before....

Armand rose to his feet, nervous about what to do with his bandaged hands. "Mlle. Anthy hasn't found me yet. Thank you for coming. I trust you far more than I do the staff here."

He'd already confessed his shame on the bulletin board. No need to waste Citan's time with that. He glanced around to see how much any of the nurses were paying attention and held out his hands. "I don't know what you can tell without removing the bandages."

"Not much, I'm afraid," Citan admitted, looking down at the wounded limbs. "What happened? I don't blame you for leaving details from the public notice, but I am curious... ah, forgive me. I'm sure you don't wish to talk about it." He smiled apologetically. "You must forgive my academic mind, it wanders sometimes and forgets about good manners. What did they do for you other than the bandaging? Or did it occur without your knowledge?"

As it so often did.

Sanji had been collected by a nurse that wasn't his usual one (and he'd wished he'd had a better opportunity to appreciate this) who immediately began fretting over his temperature and general unwell-ness. Forcefully given some fever-reducers, a damp cloth for his forehead, and a blanket for the rest of him, the chef was led to the sunroom where the nurse told him he'd have a better opportunity to lay down. If that was what she wanted, Sanji didn't understand why he wasn't simply taken back to his bedroom, but he didn't argue.

Finding an empty sofa, the woman helped him get comfortably situated with his back to everyone else in the room before leaving him on his own. A voice in the back of his head was telling him that he really needed to check on how Nami was doing, if he could find her, but he was feeling too drained to bother even turning around to get a better scope of who was in the room with him.

[*bothers again*]

"You look pathetic." Anyone who knew Zoro well enough would hear the almost half-sigh in his voice as he leaned on Sanji's couch. With his back to the chef Zoro stood there, arms crossed and head carelessly tilted away to observe something else in the room.

The other pirate looked vulnerable, miserable even, and Zoro looked as much a bodyguard as he did a casual bystander just standing over a lump on the couch.

Leave it to his green-headed rival to keep him from sleep when he could actually use it - ironic, considering how much time the other pirate spent napping. "Mn. I still look better than you on my worst days."

Sanji sat up slowly and with much grinding of teeth to keep from wincing at the movement. Then, slumped against the armrest, he proceeded to glare at Zoro. He'd need his rest if he wanted to be in the best shape he could be come nightfall. "Have you seen Nami?"

Zoro pointedly chose not to notice Sanji's jibe or the other's difficulty getting up. He kept his half-lidded eyes trained on the balcony above them, ever vigilant for danger.

"No," If this bothered Zoro, he gave no indication of it. "But she posted on the board earlier. She's in her room with a fever."

Still carrying the sack with all his stuff in it, Mason made his way to the table he'd promised to be at on the bulletin board.

There wasn't a huge line waiting for him, which was discouraging, but the reaper was not to be deterred in his quest for easy money. Or goodies, in this case.

Setting everything down, Mason took out the three styrofoam cups he'd stolen from the cafeteria and the grape. Turning the cups upside-down and putting the grape under the far left one, Mason began to practice. It was a bit awkward - he usually used walnut shells, which were a hell of a lot smaller - but pretty soon he had a rhythm going.

The reaper grinned to himself. Anyone who wanted to play with him would be in for a nasty shock when he won all their stuff.

Beatrix headed into the Sun Room and scanned for the table mentioned on the board. She chuckled a little seeing Mason sitting there; she was instantly in a better mood than she had woken up in. Having the night's plans ironed out with Rena (and soon Mion) had helped knock her out of pissed-off assassin mode but it wasn't until she sauntered over to the cute British man, an amused smile on her face, that she felt almost normal again.

Normal - in a relative sort of way.

The Bride walked past behind Mason, her fingertips brushing lightly across the back of his shoulder blades as she passed, the blonde made her way to the table and rest her hip against it.

"Going to try and hustle my charm, Mason?"

Mason looked up from his game as he felt someone touch his shoulders.

"Arlene!" He was momentarily speechless 'cause she was... well... really fucking pretty, even in the ass-ugly grey uniform. "Um. Sit! Please!"

He tried to stand up and hold one of the other chairs for her, but tripped a bit and tottered before righting himself again. Way to make an ass of yourself, Mason, he thought.

"I was..." Had she read his post on the bulletin? Probably. Oh fuck, she'd probably been the one talking about her charm and skills. It had looked like her handwriting, come to think of it. Which was bad. Girls usually weren't taken with his schemes to foist money from stupid people.

"How's you're hand?" he asked, changing the subject, and gulping. "Is you hand any better?"

After so many years of being around a man as smooth as Bill, it was amusing and refreshing to see a man that was as nervous and bumbling as Mason. She found it quite endearing, actually. How interesting.

She smiled at him once seated and then held her hand out to him. "See for yourself," she said. The bandage was gone and the injury was mostly healed, with just a thin ragged line of tender pink flesh upon her palm where the glass had cut into her.

"Oh?" She canted her head and raised an eyebrow. "Changed your mind about taking advantage of my charm and skills in this game of yours?"
