Homura couldn't move nearly as fast as he liked, so caution was the only alternative. He shined his flashlight along the hall, studying wall, ceiling, and floor before continuing on. He couldn't afford a battle like the one he'd faced the night before, simply in no shape to win it.

Not that his condition would stop him from fighting, of course. But better that he not be in any worse shape when he met Heiji or MOMO.

Nearly there, but Homura didn't slow. He'd seen Okita's group gathering at the door, which meant the time of their battle would soon be there. That made it all the more important to hurry now, and finish things.

Recluse moved as quickly as he could without sacrificing stealth in the process. It usually took a while for hostile creatures to start attacking the prisoners, but it never hurt to be cautious.

Hiei didn't use the flashlight just yet, instead relying on his instinct and his speed to alert him to any danger. In a way he hoped something would be foolish enough to come at him; the demon was eager to take out his anger in the most bloody way possible.

Kurikara better not have made any other plans to teach that night.

from hereItachi reached the cross-hallway he had become familiar with over the day. Previously he had only been led through the door at the end, to the left. He knew where that door led, but he did not know if that path would enable him to exit the building ( ... )

[from here. hope you don't mind a thursday? 8D]

Thursday was in a bit of a hurry, but that didn't prevent her from noticing the young man standing in the middle of the hallway. He looked...new, for lack of a better word.

Deciding she could take a few seconds to help him out, she walked up to him, careful to direct the beam of her torch away from his face.

"Sorry - I couldn't help but notice that you looked a bit lost. Do you need directions to someplace?"

Itachi turned slightly abstracted eyes on the woman addressing him. It seemed he would not have to make contact with anyone himself. He thought for a moment about whether it would be wise to expose his position to her, but he couldn't really afford to be concerned about that now.

"Yes. Is that door at the end of the hallway the only way out of this part of the building?" He paused for a moment, wondering if he should ask more. "I would also like to know how to find an exit from the building, if possible."

Thursday glanced back in the direction whence she'd come before nodding. "Yeah. As far as I know, there's no other way out of the M-block."

This guy really was new, wasn't he? Thursday half-turned, pointing through the open door and down the hall. "Keep going down that hall until you see a door leading to a foyer of sorts. The building's main entrance is there, but it's locked and nobody's ever been able to find the key or break it down. Personally, I'd recommend trying to find some other way out."

She wasn't in need of her maps tonight, and she was headed toward M23 anyway, so she dug out the copies Hitsugaya had given her last night and offered them to him. "These are incomplete maps of the first and second floors - they're the best we have at the moment." A pause. "I'm Thursday Next, by the way. Sorry about not introducing myself earlier."

Edgeworth switched his flashlight on as he went into the first M-block, then down the hall leading to M19.
