Day 30: Men's Showers (Third Shift)

Feb 17, 2008 23:46

The lockdown had been interesting. The fact that the staff had enough power to put down a rebellion that quickly and then lock people into their rooms just as fast was something of a feat to be admired. Their efficiency would have been much more impressive if Okita had been on the other side of it, however. As it stood, he had to keep his ( Read more... )

Saetan watched his new roommate leave with a nurse escort. He waited. What else could he do? Soon two orderlies came to take him to the showers. They warned him he wouldn't have long to clean himself. He nodded without saying anything. As muzzy-headed as he felt, he welcomed a chance to run hot water over his head, no matter how briefly. They released him and helped him walk the distance to the shower room.

One indulgence Saetan didn't harbor was body modesty. He stripped, slowed by shaky limbs not worries about disrobing, and chose a free spot to start cleaning his body. As the hot water started to clear the fog in his head, he started to think back over what had happened. The defenses here during the day seemed more formidable than he'd thought previously. This would need to be discussed, he imagined. When he could think again.

SubZero had glared at his orderlies the entire way to the shower, though he had to move slow and carefully in his drugged state, and he felt like he was moving underwater.

He had spent several moments trying to get them to leave him alone in the shower at least before giving up and stripping. Finally he gave up and instead went towards another patient with a pair of orderlies.

"Don't mind if my baby-sitters keep yours company, do you?" It was a question that SubZero didn't particularly care about the answer to, as he turned on the hot water in the shower stall next to the other man.

"I don't mind," Saetan said, pleased that his voice worked. He kept his statement short and spoke slowly. "I'm sure they get bored too."

He let the hot water pound on his skull. "That didn't go well, did it?" he rumbled, meaning the fighting.

"I've seen better," SubZero agreed. "But it was one of the best breakfasts I've had here."

It had been fun to see the patients rise up and attack the staff, and see them get what was coming to them. "Just wish I knew the girl who started it." She really seemed like she knew how to handle herself in a fight.

"Exclamation: Oh no, not this again!" No matter how much HK protested, his nurse refused to see things his way. And so he was very nearly shoved into the shower, grumbling all the way. He was irritated that he had missed out on the riot, but with his right arm broken, he didn't exactly feel like attacking anyone as big as an orderly.

HK found a shower as far away from all meatbags as he possibly could, immediately dousing himself with cold water by accident, causing him to yelp at a slightly higher pitch than was at all dignified.

[Unknowingly waiting for Peony, I guess. :|]"It's a good thing you slept through that horrible riot, Mr. Mann. It might've flared up your arthritis if you were tossed around like that," The nurse commented after shaking the Colonel awake, providing the man his glasses when he came to ( ... )

[GOD POSTING JUST AS I WAS POSTING AND NOW I HAVE TO REWRITE IT, I HATE YOU SO MUCH :|]

Especially now that he'd been able to confirm that his cool Malkuth duds weren't present in his closet, Peony couldn't wait for the chance to get the heck out of that stuffy little room with that boring little man. In fact, he was really jumping for joy. Why couldn't they have put him with someone a bit more sensible, who wasn't such a buzzkill?

Which was probably impossible. Save for the cute ladies, everyone around here was like that guy! What did a sexy, suave emperor have to to do to have a good time?

Well, showering was one of those things. Being a guy who normally showered every day (he just couldn't get enough of being clean!!) he felt life at Landel's to be unnecessarily stinky ( ... )

[Justo como había planeado]

Under the torrent of rushing water, Peony's voice sounded quite convincing in its own spectacle, one that Jade would've almost believed hadn't it been for the fact that it was Jade the blond Emperor was trying to fool. So when he felt those long arms snake their way over his shoulders, the Colonel found himself smiling contently when they immediately tore back in shock ( ... )

The look on Peony's face was something that not many people got to see in a lifetime. Peony was so used to getting his way that being around someone who didn't always let him have his way (or, rather, made it so his way wasn't really the most comfortable of ways) really ruffled his feathers. ...But it was in a good way! Sometimes one's feathers needed ruffling.

..Though he'd never admit that outright. Especially not to this villain.

He pulled himself up slowly, grumbling as his joints gave him a little more trouble than they should have. "You can wash your own darn back, and then the little places you miss are gonna fall off and rot, and then you'll come crying to me because your entire back is falling off, and if only, if only, you'd had someone to clean it for you."

Moving to an adjacent shower, Peony turned it on and then moved under the water, making sure it was the right temperature and not ice-cold. "Hm-mm. Either he's huddled up in a corner conspiring to kill us both, or it's just as you say. My bet's on the former - they ( ... )

With the way patients were being escorted around by orderlies, Wesker was even happier he had not been part of the mess. It had been tempting, but ultimately it would not have been worth hurting a few staff members during the day.

The time with his room mate had been irritating, but thankfully it hadn't lasted too long.

The hot water was relaxing, and it was nice to have a chance to let the steaming water run down his skin. It wasn't as relaxing as a hot bath, but it did feel good.

Leon entered the showers, escorted by a pair of hulking orderlies who reminded him more than a little of Krauser. He glanced around for a space that was relatively secluded. He didn't mind group showers, exactly, but it wasn't something he'd had to deal with since the early days of his training. As he looked around, his gaze fell on a vaguely familiar person. He frowned, and found a shower a few feet away from the man. He turned on the water and glanced sideways ( ... )

Thankfully, Wesker didn't show his surprise when he looked at the person showering next to him. Leon Scott Kennedy. This could go very poorly, depending on what 'time' Leon was taken from.

Judging by the glances that kept getting tossed his way, Wesker was willing to guess that Leon thought he knew who Wesker was.

"I realize that we don't know each other very well, Mr. Kennedy, but that's no reason to be rude and not say 'hello'."

Great. Clearly, this whole showering-next-to-Wesker idea had been a terrible one. Leon pushed his wet hair out of his eyes and kept his gaze on the wall.

"Trust me, Wesker, I know you just as well as I'd like to," he replied tersely. "And considering what you've done, I'd say rudeness is more than justified." He glanced down, eyes automatically cataloging the scars that covered his body. Wesker was probably responsible for plenty of them, albeit indirectly. Never mind all the other damage the man had done...

[waiting for L!]It took Mello nearly an hour of concentration before he was satisfied that he'd remembered as many details as he could. Despite the page of scratchy notes in his journal, he knew that he'd forgotten something important, and had his mood not been blunted by the sedatives, the fact would have made him furious. As it was, though, his mind could manage nothing more than sharp irritation ( ... )

There weren't many people that could effectively sneak up on Mello, even when he was drugged. Unfortunately, L was one of them. Even though he'd known that L was in the institute, the shock of the familiar voice was more still stronger than the surprise appearance beside him. How long had it been? Six years? Seven? The man's voice hadn't changed at all ( ... )
