Day 20: Professor Oak's Office [Doctor's Office 3]

Dec 01, 2006 14:13

From just looking at Professor Oak's office, it was hard to say why he was hired. There were boxes littering the ground (there were titles but they might as well have been in a foreign language), papers scattered about on the desk as well as a few on the floor, and a half set up computer. If the computer were put together, Oak's patients would see ( Read more... )

Junior was disappointed to be taken away from his brother so quickly, but it was still a comfort to know that he was here, alive, and somewhat safe. Junior would make sure he'd talk to Albedo again later. And he still needed to find Gaignun again.

Therapy, though, was his next stop, and he really didn't like the idea of talking to someone about his feelings. It wasn't a needle-and-scalpel doctor, which the redhead hated even more, but it was still a doctor.

Upon entering the room, though, any nervousness abated slightly when he saw the mess around the room. A computer that didn't seem to be completely put together yet, so many boxes...the man behind the desk didn't seem to be all that threatening.

"...Hello," he said after a moment, glancing around again. "You're my doctor?"

"That's what they've been telling me," he laughed, rather jollily in fact.

The 'they' had referred to his previous trainers - or patients from what he gathered - who seemed to be under the impression that he was: a. going to hurt them, b. going to 'fix' them, and most importantly c. call them psychotic. He couldn't blame them for it, their delusions and forgetfulness weren't their fault. In fact, it might not even be the medication's doing. A powerful psychic pokemon could have the same effect and it would be far more potent than any drugs.

Oak, like many times before, waved his hand in a lame attempt to gesture to take a seat. There was, with all the mess, only one available aside from the chair Oak had behind the desk. He was standing now - he preferred it.

"But I'm not actually a doctor, I am Professor Oak. And I'm going to go ahead and assume you haven't heard of me - or pokemon for that matter." He was smiling quite kindly.

"Oh. Nice to meet you, Professor." And it really was, the man seemed to be a lot more pleasant than he'd thought. Well...maybe it wasn't all that fair that Yuriev was what he compared any doctor to, but he had been one of the first and only examples in Junior's life, so that bastard was the first thing that came to mind whenever he heard the word doctor.

The redhead weaved through the boxes to the chair and sat down, looking over at the professor. "This certainly isn't anything like I expected, especially with this mess. And no, I haven't heard of you or...poke-e-mon before. What are they?"
