Nightshift 29: M81-M90 Hallway

At least it wasn't far to Keman's.  He knocked on the door a couple of times then waited for a response.  Yes, it would be much better to spend the evening inside and far, far away from anything that might be lurking outside, whether it was in his imagination or not.  And if the conversation got awkward or anything came up, he could ( Read more... )

Leon sighed faintly to himself as he got started on the stupidly long trip to the clinic. WHhy was there no door on this end of the hallway connecting the M1-40 rooms? Because of the lack of one simple door he had to go the long way around, which wouldn't be a problem except that he was on crutches.

Muttering darkly, Leon made his slow, awkward way down the hall.

Saber manuevered her way through the halls, finding the walk to the particular block they were aiming to arrive at to be a fairly quick one. She had not been informed as to what exactly Signum and Hokuto hoped to find here, but she trusted their judgment; whatever they sought out would most likely make their journey this evening less difficult in some manner.

She waited for the others, falling back to allow another to take the lead and attain whatever it was they needed to attain. The coast so far looked clear.

"I will remain in the hall and serve as a look-out should notice of sudden danger be required," she offered, not wanting to cramp the room with her presence. Of course, should orders come otherwise, she would respect her commanding officer's decision.

[[ ooc: Hahaha. Went the wrong way. Bad at moving, I am. Anyways, I thought I'd just leave Saber here while Signum and Hokuto do what they need to do so as not to crowd M88. If you'd rather have her there, feel free to tell her otherwise. :D ]]

"I'll stay with you," Signum said, acknowledging Saber as they reached the M88 door. "Hokuto, you can take care of this. Go into the room and tell 'Keman' you're with the person who responded to his post. Ask him to shape your shovel into a proper blade, and these," she reached into her coat and handed over her two trowels, "...as well if he will consent to doing both."

"Be sure to give him my thanks and come to me if anything else comes up," she ordered.

She'd wanted to meet Keman herself, but if Saber was going to stay outside to take watch it was better there be two of them... and this would give Hokuto something to do. The girl wasn't the best fighter, but she was definitely more personable than either of the knights. She should be given a chance to use her talents too.

"Got it." Hokuto nodded and took the trowels; though she wasn't going far, she tucked them into her belt for the moment--see, her outfit was practical!

"Back in a sec!" She knew how to be friendly, but brief; if she liked Keman, she could join him at breakfast tomorrow.

Ah, so that was the business that Signum and Hokuto had with this Keman fellow. It would certainly be wise for more arms to be acquired, if possible, but Saber wondered if it were truly possible for blades to be forged out of shovels so quickly. In her experience, it would take time for an adequate blade to be fashioned. However, the knight thought with no small degree of frustration, things were quite different here. Multitudes of people from different worlds coming together would certainly make such things possible.

"Pardon my ignorance, but how is it that this Keman is able to forge weapons here?" Saber asked, not so much for the sake of striking up conversation as it was to satisfy her own curiosity.

Leon was late. He didn't understand how he'd gotten to be so late, but he knew he was. He'd stepped out into the hallway and then began thinking about the days events and the people he'd met and before he knew it he'd gotten lost in thought. He'd lost track of time as well, though it wasn't as if it was easy to keep in this place.

He had to get to Ashton and Dias - and quick.

It was all he could do not to shout his brother's name as he charged down the corridors, though he had to silently confess how much he'd unconsciously yearned for something as trivial as personalised attire. Felt like he was back in business.

He rapped hastily on Sam's door, scuffing a boot against the frame.

"Open the door or I break it down!" He called out in an acutely demanding tone, slightly winded now he'd slowed pace.
