Seeing no reason to stall, William was quick to follow Wesker up the stairs. He didn't bother asking why Wesker was waiting for him because the answer was fairly obvious--and William wasn't going to deny he wasn't predictable when it came to his experiments.

As they walked up the stairs, Claude made sure to keep his flashlight trained on the path ahead, though he'd occasionally pause to shine the beam around to make sure nothing unsavory was blocking their way.
"You really came up here your first night, though?" Claude raised his eyebrows as he glanced over at Guy in surprise. That was really something in his book, especially since, on his first night, Claude had been too busy scouring the bottom floor for answers to realize there was a second floor to check out! Of course, he'd woken up in the middle of the night in the first place, and from what he understood, that was a little rarer ( ... )

With no signs of Claude or Guy in any of the previous hallways, Asch was beginning to think they really had made it to the second floor ahead of him. It was possible they had already found Luke-- then again, it was also possible that the replica hadn't been taken. The note hadn't confirmed he had, only that he might've. It certainly wouldn't have been the first time the other redhead had been late for something.

He didn't bother with any type of greeting other than their names, nor did he offer a long-winded explanation for his presence. Instead, the only thing he said when he spoke again was, "I'm coming with you."

He could tell the other blond was tense, which was completely understandable. Really, Guy was handling himself really well, considering. He had said he'd known Luke for years, right? He was probably worried sick. True, they didn't know for certain if Luke had been taken, but sometimes it was not knowing that was the worst.
"Well, even if Luke isn't upstairs, we'll find him," Claude said decisively after a brief moment. "You can count on that."
They were almost to the top of the stairwell by now. Claude opened his mouth to say something else, but then a familiar voice called out to them. For a moment, he honestly thought it was Luke, and with a bright expression, he suddenly turned his flashlight towards the newcomer. "Oh!But then he saw the long hair and realized it was Asch. Clearing his throat, he did his best to cover the slip up, and he slightly lowered ( ... )

Sousuke took the stairs as though having another person on his back didn't matter at all. Most people might have taken it slow, but Sousuke was trained to run up stairs, down stairs, two at a time, leap the staircase with cargo on his back.
"Watch the stairs," Sousuke warned Mousse. The man wouldn't be able to see the stairs with a box in front of him, after all.
