"Shana," Shadow whispered to her, seeing that she was fairly close to him. He took her arm, trying to shake the scared feeling he felt in the pit of his stomach. This was like nothing he was used to. He'd been scared before but this was a different type of fear. "Hey, are you alright? Did you land well?"

"I'm fine!" she whispered back, keeping an ear out for anything approaching them from the darkness beyond her limited line of sight. "We have to find Valyn and Keman. Can you feel their magic anywhere? Have they cast anything so we can find them? Fire and Rain, how are we supposed to..."

She trailed off as the familiar melody of Keman's magic hit her and she instinctively turned in that direction. "I found Keman. He's this way!" she countered, reaching out and groping for Shadow's hand in the dark to keep him close to her.

Shadow squeezed her hand tight as he followed her, straining to find Valyn in the madness. "We have to be careful," Shadow reminded Shana as they made their way towards the other bus. "I thought I heard some other monsters out here. Once we find them we should head towards some sort of shelter. See if we can't find a room..."

Shadow's voice trailed off. Wait, they were outside weren't they? How difficult would it be to escape through the gates while the monster nurses were preoccupied on the bus? "Let's find Valyn and Keman," Shadow said quickly. "I think I have a plan."

"This is better than your last plan, isn't it?" she remarked wryly, tugging him towards where she could feel Keman.

Then she paused, worry creeping over her. The feeling of his magic was fading; not ending, just... getting much, much weaker.

"Something's wrong," she stated, staring into the darkness where his presence was dwindling for half a second before she gave Shadow's hand a yank.

"Come on!"

Tamaki landed awkwardly, scraping his knee through his jeans when he dropped out of the window. He stood, brushing himself off, and peered through the darkness to try and find the front doors.

Gods, all the screaming... Aidou grit his teeth, and moved away from the bus. None of the others had followed, but that didn't concern him--vampires harming humans was one thing he couldn't ignore, however this was beyond him. He had to find his cousin, or at least get control of his own situation. After all, Akatsuki was strong. He'd be fine whether Aidou was with him or not.

As for the others around him, confined to the buses...

Obviously they were outside the Institute, but when the hell had there been dive-bombing birds on the rooftops? Aidou held his shoulder, and risked a glance over his shoulder as the young girl and boy were attacked. The gates leading out of the driveway...

What were the chances he'd find a way to regain his stolen abilities outside of this godforsaken place?

The vampires weren't the only predators of the night. From the roof where they nested another came, giant and bird-like. It's wings spread, the only warning Aidou would get would be it's resounding caw, the sound of the wind rushing around it as it swept down from the sky at him. It was ready, so ready to tear into that wholesome muscle, that untainted flesh that would fill it's belly soon, leaving only bones and the stain of blood on its beak.

The young vampire wasn't planning on becoming anything's meal, not again, and not by some disgusting eagle-like creature that smelled like moulding corpses. Within the heat of the moment--or what came closest to a life or death situation--it was all too easy to put aside his own internal pain, granted him by that witch Reika.

Right now, it was a time to prove himself capable.

Vampire sight wasn't something humans could understand, but Aidou could say with perfect confidence that he saw the growing shadow of the bird within the shadows of the driveway, and as it shrieked at him, he dove back to his right, attempting to take cover by the nearest bus's flank.

The incantation fell quietly from her lips as Momo continued to run toward the institute. Her eyes were fixed on the birdlike monster as it continued its decent upon the patient. It was insulting to have to use the incantation on this binding spell, but as long as the thing worked, she would stuff her pride in her kidou ability until she had more time to dwell on the unpleasant situation.

"Bakudo #1: Sai!" Momo's voice called out as she finished the spell. She felt the energy leave her and she hoped it would act as it should, locking the bird thing's wings behind it and causing it to crash into the ground. Hoped

It was nice to be outside, Mousse decided. He quickly realized, however, that the situation didn't changed just because the venue did. Granted, he had more room to move about, but there was still no light nor indication that he was in any sort of improved situation.

Well, damn.

At least he could flee if things got bad. Dropping down to a crouch, the Amazon began patting the ground blindly, looking for any sticks or rocks that could double as a weapon.

He should have fled, or at least watched the skies. The ground wasn't where the danger came from this night, no, not at all. He was untainted, and that summoned one of the creatures from the roof, sent it diving down at the man fumbling on the ground. Would he hear the cry and realize his peril? Would he sense the predator meaning to pluck him up and rip him apart?

Or would he simply stay there, and accept his fate? To the creature, it mattered not. It would have it's meal, and that was that.

Mousse had the sense something wasn't right. He sometimes got this sense right before he walked into a door or put his arms around the wrong woman in the misconception that it was Shampoo. It was a somewhat sinking feeling, as if something bad were about to happen and he need only react accordingly and it would be dealt with appropriately.

As was always the case, though, the Amazon didn't have the slightest idea of what was about to befall him, so he chose not to pay heed. Now, there had to be a stick somewhere on the ground that he could wield as club or staff...

Mason crashed painfully onto the pavement. Everything was eerily dark, but the reaper was hardly frightened of the dark - it wasn't as if there was anything out there that could kill him.

Pushing himself to his feet, the reaper began to grope around, hoping to find a wall or something he could follow to freedom. It should be easy to escape in all this chaos, if he could just fucking see!

Moving forward with only minimal caution, the reaper crashed into someone. "Uh..." he said, hoping he hadn't just bumped into some horrible monster. "Hello?"

Naomi took a moment to yank her dress down to something that resembled decency once she'd hit the ground. Bits of glass clung to it, and she supposed with how high she'd had to rip it, it couldn't be called 'decent'.

At least L hadn't gone far. But that wasn't what caught her attention. it was the dark, screaming things that were attacking the other patients.

"What the hell are those?"

"They look dangerous. And...." And they were attacking people. But if she looked closely, they seemed to be attacking specific targets. Naomi wanted to help, but... L was her priority. She couldn't afford to let anything get in the way of protecting him.

"Alright. Stay close to me. We'll get inside and get you into one of the rooms. They're safe."
