Day 28: Wicker Street

[ running fast from Germaine St. ]

Ed was now screaming at the top of her lungs, "Help, help, I'm being repressed!" Stupid doctors and nurses must be elsewhere obsessed, they weren't yet coming to rescue Ed who was quite distressed! The evil stormtrooper was still on her heals, and as if she was going to trust his appeals. Pain and punishment were ( Read more... )

By the Emperor, this was getting annoying. He was within grabbing distance now, but he didn't take the chance. "Unlike some, Imperials are trained to attack only in self-defense. Stop running, kid." He'd shoot first if ordered to do so, but there were these things called the 'rules of engagement'.

He was too close, Ed was done for. She threw herself into a cartwheel and then bounced into a quite-halted standing position, hands behind her back. The big grin returned.

"Ed thinks you just don't want to get in trouble. Too bad the Death Star is just a bunch of rubble!" If she was going down, she was going down in flames. Enough running like a scaredy cat, let TK do his worst and prove himself evil as all that! Besides, a nurse should be along any second now.

TK deliberately stopped himself a few meters away, his expression turning from slightly irritated to furious. But he wasn't going to attack. Not now. If this kid didn't smarten up, then he'd go it alone one nightshift, so he wouldn't upset the civvies.

"I told you. I don't start fights, I end them." He kept his voice quiet, but that didn't detract from the force behind the words. "I was on the Death Star when it went up. Now explain to me why you think the Empire is evil, when you know what happened to that station."

"Because you're the bad guys!" Duh. "Ed thinks you've been indoctrinated with lots of lies." She really didn't want to have this discussion. And she was starting to think the security here was leaning to the sadistic side.

If Zoro’s turning left had any sort of reason behind it, it would most likely be “because the wind was blowing in that direction”.

But, of course, one couldn’t accuse him of not knowing where he was going. He was, after all, going to an inn, bar, and/or tavern. He just wasn’t sure where it was yet.

Zoro missed the Black Rock Inn by a hair’s breadth as he took another hasty left turn.

[ Stepping out from here.]

Daemon stepped out of the Inn with River on his arm, and paused at the bottom of the steps, blinking to allow his eyes to adjust to bright daylight once more. Glancing down at the girl at his side, his lips quirked in amusement as he led her down the street.

"So which park is hiding the elusive pudding? The one we passed on the way in, or is there another? And why is there pudding in a park? I'm almost afraid to ask."

"She can tell you here, if you like. About the pudding anyway," River replied happily, stopping in her tracks while still holding onto his arm like a proper maiden. "Park's not where the pudding is. Told maybe a bit of a lie. Park's where the pudding can be, but it can be here too. The park with the lake is where there's going to be story telling." River sighed, weighing her options.

"She thinks she won't keep him in suspense any longer." River beckoned him to lean in with her finger, implying a whisper of sorts. Pudding was a carefully kept secret. He would understand.

Looking slightly perplexed, his eyebrow remained arched at her for a heartbeat longer before Daemon obediently bent his head to hear her secret.

It didn't come as much of a surprise that with River, pudding wasn't pudding. He figured he should have seen that one coming.

River leaned in as well, silent just to draw out the suspense, brown gaze unwavering as it met gold. Pretty gold, maybe intimidating under the right conditions, but pretty gold. The time drew itself in a slow motion, making the mere seconds seem much longer than they actually were until it came time to break the thickening air.

River shot up onto her tip toes, he was still a bit taller to be reaching, dancing to the side quickly so that she was directly in front of him, and planting a sudden and fleeting kiss on his lips, hopefully leaving him speechless enough so that she could get a head start. Laughter came like music when she danced back, turned on her heel, and started to dart off in the direction of Magnus Park, just begging to be chased.

[[ dashing off here. :P ]]

Robin strolled out of the Pet Shop calmly but soon picked up his pace.
"Sexton... Is that really you?" he asked his pouch. The mouse looked so familiar. Perhaps Sexton had been transformed too? Robin kept the two legs, Sexton kept the fur. Robin knew right away which he'd rather be left with, but it didn't matter.

He walked quickly, hoping the shop owner wouldn't notice anything or suspect him. He turned onto the next street.

[Coming from Here]

Finally moving into Wicker Street, Cloud tucked his hands into his pockets and tried to put some distance from that conversation. He had the sinking feeling that he might be followed, but he was hoping that Sephiroth had given up and would leave him to think on things longer. If he could think, he could put things in order and it would be alright again.

Despite himself, he glanced back to see if he was indeed followed. He would hate for this to turn into a cat and mouse game. The buildings were not that tall, so he could get to the roof possibly.

It might have been a relief to discover that Sephiroth wasn't behind him. Nope, Sephiroth was off to Cloud's right sedately ambling along the rooftop and watching the blond.

Sephiroth was pleased on the whole that he had come through with some of his agility and strength. Otherwise, it would have been quite embarrassing to have fallen backwards onto his arse when doing his routine to get up here. When testing what little ability he had left, Sephiroth was pleased Kadaj and Yazoo hadn't been around. That would have been something he'd never live down, particularly from Kadaj.

He figured a nurse or the like would spot him eventually, but until then, he was content to simply follow until Cloud reached a better place for him to resume their conversation. Somewhere they wouldn't be 'interrupted'.

Considering where he could go, Cloud walked briskly down the length of Wicker Street before he paused and looked around. He disliked being on the ground like this, where he knew he was vulnerable. He made his way over to one of the buildings, looking like some auto shop ( ... )

Sephiroth offered Cloud a mirthless smile as the man finally noticed him. Figured they would have the same lines of thought on where to go. He stood silently as he watched Cloud, letting the other flee from him. For now at least. Instead of giving chance, he merely waited to see where Cloud was going to. Running blindly down streets would accomplish nothing, especially if Cloud did manage to get away from him.

Walking steadily to the edge of the rooftop's apex, he nodded to himself when he saw the direction that Cloud was going in. Hmm. Losing sight of Cloud for now, Sephiroth shrugged to himself and leaped down, heading the way Cloud had gone.

((heading over thatta way that Cloud went: http://community.livejournal.com/damned/245488.html))
