The boy could see twice. How fair could that be? To see normally, and then to see again - more than any normal person - was not only somehow unfair (as unfair as a doctor could claim it to be), but an incredible scientific discovery. How far could they be pushed? Where were they from? What part of the eye, exactly, allowed for this double sight? All good questions, and all ones the doctor wanted to answer.

"What an interesting family line you have," said the doctor as he pulled on a pair of thin latex gloves, talking to the boy strapped firmly to the table behind him. "To give you such interesting sight ... tell me, what all can you see with it?"
