Nightshift 25: Hallway outside F9

She closed the door as softly as she could, hoping the nearly inaudible click would not bring the Southstairs guards to her location. She felt along the wall, pressing herself as closely as she dared to the smooth surface. In the dim light she could make out other doors similar to her own, and the hallway stretched in both directions. She tested the handle on the door directly next to her own. It turned easily enough, and she let the handle return to its original position. What kind of game was the Wizard playing, placing prisoners in rooms that were unlocked, allowed to roam the hallways at night?

In any case, she had heard dim noises echoing through the halls, and if the guards were on patrol, to say they'd be most displeased to see her out of her room would be a drastic understatement. She walked toward the nearest corridor, seeing a door directly ahead of her, as well as one to the right. The shadows did not hide her as well as she liked, and she headed for the door to the right, hoping it would not lead into another corridor...
