Night 60: Entry Room

[From here.]Castiel didn't know if Dean had ever been to this room, but he suspected he must have, seeing how he'd been in this place for a longer period of time. Even if this was Dean's first time here, however, there wasn't much to be said about the room. There wasn't anything remarkable about it beyond it being a means to get outside ( Read more... )

Sucks he didn't get a crack at Martin Landel. Number of patients here and a list a mile long and Castiel totally had the best spot ( ... )

Dean didn't waste any time in getting to work, which Castiel appreciated. He grabbed for his flashlight, clicking it on and directing it at the lock much like he had with Orihara the first time he'd come to this room. He tried to study Dean's methods and considered asking a few questions, but they didn't have the time for that ( ... )

"Sounds like a soap," Dean grunted under his breath as he came to the decision that this door was a tough sonuvabitch. "So basically we're back at ground zero is what you're saying."

Not angel smiting juice and Martin Landel was still hanging around with the ability to kidnap whoever - and whatever, apparently - he wanted and they still didn't know how to stop him. He could ask Sam about what he knew about Jill but he suspected he already knew the answer. Dean kept at the door for a few minutes longer until he heard the bolt click. See? Give the thing some love and she'd look after you. Dean clapped his hands to his knees and pushed himself to his feet, turning and Christ, Castiel was standing a lot closer than he thought.

Dean leaned back to at least pretend he still had some personal space. He jabbed a thumb over at the door.

"What'd I tell you? Played her like a violin."

Soap? Castiel had no idea what cleansing one's body had to do with the story that he'd just related, but he had to assume that it was some reference that he wasn't following, and decided to leave it be. At one point he'd made attempts to understand the strange things that came out of Dean's mouth, but he'd quickly realized that it was usually a waste of time.

Especially when the door was now open. Castiel pulled forward and watched as it swung open, offering a breath of fresh air. It was odd, how refreshing that could feel, though part of it had to do with the fact that they were making progress, which was certainly rare in this place.

"I wouldn't call it ground zero," he replied after a pause, pushing past Dean to get outside.

He was really going to have to learn how to get these doors open on his own, though for now he was content to make use of Dean's skills.
