Even if this was Dean's first time here, however, there wasn't much to be said about the room. There wasn't anything remarkable about it beyond it being a means to get outside

Dean knelt by the lock and went to work, as best as he could in crap lighting and knowing he had an angel rocking a ratty trenchcoat behind him.
"I'm surprised you guys didn't bust right on out of here if you were all amped up," Dean grunted as he worked at the lock. This one seemed pretty damn stubborn; maybe it needed more love than some of the ones he'd had in the past. Dean remained where he was kneeling at the base of the door. "So what stopped you guys? I figured you would've been able to call some holy juice. Do that whole smiting thing."
He would've thought Martin Landel and the miliary pukes like Aguilar would've been worth a smiting. Maybe Castiel was way, way at the bottom of the angelic totem pole, or there were something else he didn't know about, which wasn't a pretty picture when you had to ask what could stop an angel. Hell if he knew. Dean had spent his night with Ruby. It hadn't exactly been his most productive night. He guessed he should consider himself lucky he didn't get an ulcer just being around the demoness.

What Dean asked was completely valid, though it was still enough to make Castiel defensive. It was true, though; he should have been able to take Aguilar's life right then and there. He hadn't had the chance, though. There hadn't even been time for the thought to cross his mind. While he didn't like to be reminded of his own failures, that likely hadn't been Dean's intention when he'd asked.
"The moment that the device failed, Aguilar and all of his men fled the scene. Not by foot. They managed to disappear entirely." It was something only a supernatural being (and a powerful one) should have been capable of. Castiel frowned at the thought, wondering how they had pulled it off. It must have been some extremely powerful magic.
"Only two were left behind. One was the traitor who had been outed. The other was a woman who explained that she had infiltrated this place in the past. Landel apparently got a hold of her and forced her to work for him as his nurse. He also forced her to pose as a radio presence; she called herself Jill." That was something that Dean might know more about, seeing how he had been here for a good deal longer than Castiel had, from what he understood.

Not angel smiting juice and Martin Landel was still hanging around with the ability to kidnap whoever - and whatever, apparently - he wanted and they still didn't know how to stop him. He could ask Sam about what he knew about Jill but he suspected he already knew the answer. Dean kept at the door for a few minutes longer until he heard the bolt click. See? Give the thing some love and she'd look after you. Dean clapped his hands to his knees and pushed himself to his feet, turning and Christ, Castiel was standing a lot closer than he thought.
Dean leaned back to at least pretend he still had some personal space. He jabbed a thumb over at the door.
"What'd I tell you? Played her like a violin."

Especially when the door was now open. Castiel pulled forward and watched as it swung open, offering a breath of fresh air. It was odd, how refreshing that could feel, though part of it had to do with the fact that they were making progress, which was certainly rare in this place.
"I wouldn't call it ground zero," he replied after a pause, pushing past Dean to get outside.
He was really going to have to learn how to get these doors open on his own, though for now he was content to make use of Dean's skills.
