Nightshift 60: West Wing, South Hall 1-A

S.T was navigating by a fingertip on the wall and the slight breeze of a functioning HVAC system. The halls were dark again. Completely empty, too. He was out early. And he was still thinking.

Something so fallible, he'd said. So that talk about a device had been true? Freaky. Maybe he really wasn't human. Replaced by a machine ( Read more... )

Heading all the way over to the female block was kind of a pain, if only because Sora was used to only going as far as the stairs, or just one hall up from here. Still, he had been planning to give Kairi these gifts for a while now and they had never made the time. Part of that was because he had a club to run and things to do, and part of it was because it didn't seem right to hand them over when Riku was around.

If Riku had been at the institute when Sora had gone to Doyleton, then he would have bought him something too, of course. But he hadn't been around, so now it just made things a little bit awkward. Riku probably didn't care about stuff like that, but Sora didn't want to take any chances.

Either way, he would finally get to take care of this tonight. Sora hit the end of the hall and took a right.

Indy was glad to see his shoes were staying clean so far. Their odds would certainly be better if they didn't have to deal with lab rats running free--and as comforting as Peter might find it to have his abilities back, Indy for one felt better when they were all on a (relatively) level playing field and no one around him had the power to shred small animals with his mind. Call him old-fashioned.

He was the only one in this corridor, but he could hear at least one voice in the main hallway up ahead. Indy quickened his steps.

Briefly, he heard the sound of light, running footsteps. Loki slowed to a stop and listened again, but it didn't have the sound of someone running from something, but rather going to somewhere with purpose. He resumed his much more considered pace a moment later. He wasn't in a hurry to make the short trip, since either he'd be in for a wait, or his companion for the night would be waiting for him. Caution was advised in strange territory.

It was a lesson his brother had certainly never gotten the hang of.

Renji slowed as he finished whipping around the main hall and into the hall near the womens' blocks. He was a little less familiar with this area. He knew it was exactly like the men's, but just to be safe he rested his hand on the wall again and walked until he hit the first doorway. He slipped through. It was either going to be the residence block, or his life was about to get interesting.

As Harvey moved down the hall he was almost certain that he saw someone with a fedora turning the corner up ahead of him, though he couldn't be entirely sure. He wasn't able to tell if Jones was walking better, either -- not from just seeing it that quickly -- but he was about to find out.

Glad to see that the hall was completely clear, Harvey moved down it briskly and hung a right.
