There existed no evidence of monster activity, but he knew without effort. Someone had come by this hallway, as evident by a used door and dissipating heat. It didn't take them long to reach the door that would lead outside, but Lydia also noticed the signs that someone had come here before them. She paused, clenching her jaw in slight frustration as she tried to decide how they should proceed. They could always wait here for a moment and hope that the patients would clear out, but for some reason that seemed cowardly.

Besides, it wasn't as if they had the time to wait around. If they did, monsters or other patients were likely to find them anyway. They were just going to have to rush past whoever was out there and get down into the courtyard.

"We can't stand around and chat with them," she warned Claude, even though he was trying to be the protective one. She understood that she had entrusted him to use his abilities in the event that they got attacked, but in this case they were just going to have to avoid whoever was out there.

As the man opened the door, she followed after right on his heels.
