Give a glow to another, let phosphorous light outside and within, and he traced a hand along glowing walls, waveform prodding, then releasing at the feel of some shielding. There was heat in the air, along the walls, under his skin, and he prodded at the sensation, licked his lips and hummed a note, a flicker of violet afterimage superimposing itself along his skin. Fingers reached and stretched as if bones were reforming under his skin, reshaping into a different creature, a caricature of human form

There was a mess of limbs and gore at his feet, resembling pieces of animals but little more. His pants were soaked to mid calf in blood and he stood sedately in the midst of it all, looking serenely at the ceiling, a thicker substance than mere blood dripping from his hair down his cheek. Ashes, ashes.

[From here.]A path led from origin to elsewhere, bathed in contention as the smell of blood hung thick. It served as an echo to another time, a mirror to another planet and its abominable environment. What differed here was mere purpose: for the lack of an elusive brother, he would track another who all but shone. A beacon on a distant shore, light to focus upon

Time ticked away and time slips away. In the place where life once dwelled, emptiness now consumed, and even a faint melody, even in memoriam, in remembrance of a Song, little moved to echo, but the remains of the day, slipping and sliding towards their own path of ascension and a fall. Of life and death--much the same, really, for neither touched him as much as other things, as much as--
It wasn’t as if Albedo was dimwitted, honestly. Even if he hadn’t locked onto his younger brother, there was no way he could have ignored another waveform, strong as it should be--should have been, approaching steadily down the hall. Albedo kept his gaze upward, kept his apparent serenity, and the younger stopped a distance away, and Albedo could tell you without looking the lack of surprise in that one’s gaze.
That one. His younger brother in blood. Nigredo.
Oh, Albedo could remember as had lacked clarity before. He could remember in sensations, in pressure and essence--how his hand had felt slamming into Nigredo’s cheek, how his waveform had

As it turned out, Badou seemed like a pretty cool guy. He knew his way around the institute, which meant that they didn't have to explain much to each other, and he'd also been pretty laidback. Zack almost had a good feeling about it, but he didn't want to get too used to seeing him considering his track record with roommates. He really did hope that Badou would stick around, though

At the start of the night, things had been looking up. Zack turned out to be pretty chill, and Badou figured they might end up being good friends after all. It was a nice change from his first roommate, especially since it looked like they'd be rooming together for a while. They'd both been here long enough that they could take care of themselves, and Zack seemed to be hefting a sword that must weigh as much as Badou's entire body. Not a bad person to be friendly with. Maybe his luck was starting to change.
His optimism lasted a whole ten seconds into the start of night. He didn't have a clue what 'code red' meant, or what had triggered it, but he was on his feet soon after Zack, hands clamped over his ears. Whatever it was, it didn't sound good"It's never code Rainbow Poptart Kittens or something..." He was pretty sure the alarm drowned out his voice but he might not have been too far off the mark. Most of the room seemed to be covered in a weird pink sheen. If only it was just emergency makeover time. He glanced at Zack, who was

Finally, it seemed Sechs' unbearably long illness had finally faded out of his system, as he was able to walk back to his room without any aid from the soldiers. Sechs may have missed a whole night and most of the day to whatever sickness he caught from that poisonous medicine he drank nights ago, but now he was eager to make up for it all. Even if being dragged out of bed after lunch was enough to force Sechs through another gut-wrenching session of retching, he was glad to have caught the opportunity to spot Utena's post on the bulletin board before dinner. He had a trip to the basement to look forward to now. Sai had arrived for dinner in one piece as well, a bit of relief for the Replica to see, he was getting tired of losing roommates to unknown but likely unpleasant circumstances
( ... )
The confused Replica jumped to action. With his glove recovered, Sechs made a leap to his closet, grasping for his axe and machete. He had no idea what was going on, but he sure as hell was going to be prepared for what was coming!
Yet the continuing wails of the alarms and the foreboding energy that practically sizzled in the air weren't all that the night had in store. An odd sensation that swiftly took over Sechs' body stopped him from storming out through the door. Fearing that his flesh was about to fall off again, Sechs was surprised to spot a faint glimmer of metal on his skin, yet the strange sight faded away quickly. What came as a small ripple of energy then grew into waves of power which cascaded over every inch of Sechs, a power which he had dearly missed for the past three weeks in captivity...
Everything was coming back to him! His strength, his speed, his abilities in Panzer Kunst... His weapons and gear no longer had any noticeable weight upon him. Even though his body remained organic, Sechs knew deep down he had

A few minutes was all it took for chaos to erase away the last of the day’s wearisome monotony.
Aidou had chosen to dress in his Night Class uniform that night--one of the few remnants he had of his normal life--and had still been in the hall when the alarms sounded. He couldn’t have predicted how close to normal he was going to come, but in between I.R.I.S. and the abnormal pink glow that spread like a stain across the corridor, there it was. A shift. Equilibrium, in its finest sense.
All of a sudden, the noble felt… himselfJust like that, there was strength where there had been weakness, heightened senses where before there had been only dull, human-like perception. And his noble abilities… like the click of a key in a lock, he could feel them, had the knowledge that they were rightfully within his grasp again
