The halls near their rooms were narrow, but even with the large coat trailing behind him, it didn't take long for them to reach one of the larger hallways. From here it was almost a straight shot all the way to the entrance.
He would follow Chise regardless, but one thing kept tugging at him. She'd given him plenty of logical reasons for wanting to find the doctor and Marc; the military didn't sit well with her for one, but she'd hardly seemed bothered about whether or not Fai had a reason for coming with her. He had several excuses and reasons in mind, of course, but it did make him feel a bit guilty, to think that she trusted him so much. Whether or not the trust was misplaced.
"That way and then through the front doors?" he asked, "or should we try going over the fence this way?" he asked, pointing down both halls.
As of now, Fai was the only one she could share her plan with without being told how dangerous it could be for a small girl like her. Chise knew that on the night she attacked both Kurogane and Fai, they saw the power she possessed and understood what she was capable of. The fact that Fai was willing to follow her eased out her guilt; he trusted her despite her actions in the past, and in return, she trusted him.
"It would be faster if we tried going over the fence outside. I'm not tall enough so I'll probably need help getting over the fence," she replied, then headed towards the exit.
